General Access
Yes. Core encyclopedia access, reading, searching, and knowledge graph exploration are 100% free for personal and educational use. We offer optional premium tiers for institutional licensing, advanced API access, and bulk export tools, but no content is ever behind a paywall for individual learners.
Currently, Aevum supports 140+ languages with full UI translation and peer-reviewed articles. Content availability varies by language, but our AI translation bridge ensures accurate cross-lingual access while native contributors continuously expand localized coverage.
Absolutely. All Aevum articles are licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0, meaning you can freely use, share, and adapt content as long as you provide proper attribution. We also generate automated citation exports in APA, MLA, Chicago, and BibTeX formats for seamless academic integration.
Contributing & Editing
Visit our Contributor Portal to register. Verification is based on demonstrated expertise in a subject area, academic credentials, or a consistent history of high-quality edits. Once verified, you gain access to advanced editing tools, priority review queues, and the ability to flag content for expert review.
Every new article or significant edit enters a multi-stage review pipeline: AI fact-checking, community peer review, and final validation by a domain expert. Articles display a transparent verification badge showing review status, source citations, and last audit date. Changes are version-controlled and publicly traceable.
You can submit a formal revision request through the "Improve Article" panel. If the discrepancy involves factual accuracy, it's routed to our verification team. For editorial differences, we encourage adding alternative perspectives in designated "Viewpoints" sections, maintaining neutrality and academic rigor.
AI & Verification
No. All primary content is written and edited by human experts and verified contributors. AI is used exclusively as an assistive tool: cross-referencing sources, detecting bias, surfacing citation gaps, and generating knowledge graph connections. Every claim carries traceable primary sources.
We employ a three-layer verification system: (1) Automated AI cross-referencing against peer-reviewed databases, (2) Community flagging and peer review, and (3) Expert editorial oversight. Articles with disputed claims are temporarily marked "Under Review" until consensus is reached. We also maintain a public transparency report detailing correction rates and audit methodologies.
Technical & Account
Yes. Our mobile apps (iOS & Android) support offline reading. You can bookmark articles or download curated topic packs for offline access. Cached content syncs automatically when you reconnect, ensuring you're always up to date.
Visit the login page and click "Forgot Password." You'll receive a secure verification link via email. If you've lost access to your email, contact our support team with your username and verification ID, and we'll guide you through identity confirmation and account recovery.
Only locally and optionally. Reading history is stored on your device to power personalized recommendations and progress tracking. You can clear it anytime in Settings > Privacy. We never sell or share reading data, and all sync features are end-to-end encrypted.
