The NASA–NATO Conference of 1968 was a landmark international scientific symposium held in Brussels, Belgium, from September 12–15, 1968. By the mid-1960s, the Space Race had transitioned from pure competition to a phase of cautious scientific collaboration. While geopolitical tensions remained high during the Cold War, space technology emerged as a neutral domain where Western allies could share data, standardize protocols, and coordinate atmospheric research.
