1. Introduction
Welcome to the Aevum Encyclopedia. This Contributor Agreement ("Agreement") outlines the terms under which individuals ("Contributors") may create, edit, submit, and publish content on the Aevum Encyclopedia platform ("Platform"). By creating an account and submitting content, you agree to be bound by this Agreement, our Community Guidelines, and applicable laws.
Aevum Encyclopedia is a collaborative, AI-enhanced knowledge repository dedicated to accuracy, neutrality, and accessibility. Contributors play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and depth of our global knowledge base.
2. Eligibility & Registration
2.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 16 years of age to register as a Contributor. Minors aged 13–15 may participate only with verifiable parental or guardian consent.
2.2 Account Verification
All Contributors must complete identity verification and, where applicable, subject-matter credential verification to access advanced editing privileges. Aevum reserves the right to request additional documentation to verify expertise.
2.3 One Account Per Person
Contributors may maintain only one active account. Creating multiple accounts to bypass restrictions, manipulate metrics, or circumvent moderation is strictly prohibited.
3. Content Standards & Editorial Guidelines
All content submitted to the Platform must adhere to the following standards:
- Factual Accuracy: Claims must be supported by reliable, verifiable sources. Unverifiable speculation, rumors, or conspiracy theories are not permitted.
- Neutral Point of View: Articles must present all significant viewpoints fairly, without editorializing or promoting a single perspective.
- Originality: Content must be written or substantially adapted by the Contributor. Plagiarism, copyright infringement, and unauthorized republication are strictly prohibited.
- Citation & Attribution: All facts, quotes, data, and media must be properly cited using standard academic or journalistic formats accepted by Aevum.
- Language & Tone: Writing must be professional, respectful, and free from hate speech, harassment, profanity, or personal attacks.
Images, audio, video, and datasets must be either original, public domain, or licensed under terms that permit redistribution. Contributors retain responsibility for verifying media rights.
4. AI-Assisted Contributions Policy
Aevum Encyclopedia leverages artificial intelligence to enhance knowledge discovery, but AI-generated content is not permitted as standalone submissions.
4.1 Permitted AI Use
- Grammar checking, spell correction, and style suggestions
- Translation assistance for multilingual contributions
- Source discovery and citation formatting
- Data visualization scaffolding (must be manually verified)
4.2 Prohibited AI Use
- Generating full articles, paragraphs, or substantial sections without human authorship
- Submitting unverified AI-synthesized facts or hallucinated references
- Using AI to evade content filters, plagiarism detection, or moderation systems
Contributors must disclose AI assistance in the article submission metadata. Failure to do so may result in content removal and account suspension.
5. Copyright & Licensing
5.1 Grant of License
By submitting content, you grant Aevum Encyclopedia a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, display, and archive your contributions under the Aevum Open Knowledge License (AAKL-2.0). This license permits others to share and adapt your work provided proper attribution is maintained.
5.2 Moral Rights & Attribution
You retain moral rights to your work where applicable by law. Your contributions will be attributed to your contributor profile, and edit history will be permanently preserved.
5.3 Withdrawal of Content
Contributors may request content revision or archival, but cannot retract the license granted to previously published versions. Archival copies may remain accessible for historical and legal continuity.
6. Review & Moderation Process
All submissions undergo a multi-tier review process:
- Automated Screening: AI algorithms check for plagiarism, policy violations, and basic factual consistency.
- Peer Review: Verified contributors in the relevant domain may review, suggest edits, or flag content.
- Editorial Approval: Subject-matter editors make final decisions on publication, restructuring, or rejection.
Aevum reserves the right to edit, restructure, or reject any submission that fails to meet editorial standards. Contributors will receive feedback within 5–14 business days.
7. Contributor Rights & Recognition
- Edit History: Full transparent tracking of all contributions and revisions.
- Badges & Tiers: Recognition system based on contribution quality, accuracy, and community impact.
- Revenue Share (Optional): Verified experts may opt into Aevum's Knowledge Premium program for compensated editorial work.
- Appeals: Right to appeal moderation decisions through the Independent Review Panel.
8. Account Termination & Enforcement
Aevum may suspend or terminate Contributor accounts for:
- Repeated policy violations or plagiarism
- Malicious editing, vandalism, or coordinated manipulation
- Submission of dangerous, illegal, or harmful content
- Fraudulent verification or credential falsification
Termination may be temporary or permanent. In permanent cases, contributions may be preserved under community stewardship or archived in accordance with preservation policies.
9. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer
Contributors acknowledge that Aevum Encyclopedia provides tools and infrastructure for knowledge sharing but does not guarantee the absolute accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any content. Aevum shall not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of Platform content. Contributors are solely responsible for their submissions and must ensure compliance with applicable intellectual property and defamation laws.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
