🌐 Core Scope & Coverage

Aevum Encyclopedia is designed to archive and explain established knowledge across academic, scientific, historical, cultural, and technical disciplines. Our mission is to provide verified, citable, and contextually rich information that stands the test of peer review and scholarly consensus.

Primary Focus: Topics with verifiable sources, academic literature, historical records, or widely recognized expert consensus. We prioritize depth, accuracy, and multidisciplinary connections.

🚫 Explicit Exclusions

While our goal is comprehensive coverage, certain types of content fall strictly outside our editorial boundaries. These exclusions protect the integrity, safety, and legal compliance of the platform.

Excluded

Breaking News & Real-Time Events

Fast-moving news, live sports scores, stock prices, and unverified breaking events are excluded. We document events only after sufficient historical perspective and verified sourcing are available.

Excluded

Personal Opinions & Blogs

Subjective commentary, personal diaries, unstructured opinion pieces, and non-cited advocacy do not meet our encyclopedic standards. All entries must maintain a neutral point of view.

Excluded

Defamatory & Unverified Claims

Content containing unproven allegations, conspiracy theories presented as fact, or material that could constitute defamation, harassment, or targeted misinformation is strictly prohibited.

Excluded

Explicit & Harmful Material

Graphically violent content, sexually explicit material, hate speech, or instructions facilitating illegal/harmful activities are permanently excluded and subject to immediate removal.

Limited

Medical & Legal Advice

We provide informational overviews of medical conditions and legal frameworks, but explicitly exclude diagnostic, treatment, or legal advice. All such entries carry mandatory disclaimer notices.

Limited

Commercial & Promotional Content

Advertising, product reviews with affiliate intent, corporate press releases, and self-promotional material are excluded. Neutral coverage of companies/brands is permitted with strict citation requirements.

✍️ Editorial Boundaries

Our editorial process operates within clearly defined boundaries to maintain academic rigor and neutrality. These guidelines govern how contributors and reviewers handle complex or sensitive topics.

  • Neutral Point of View (NPOV): All articles must present multiple perspectives on controversial topics without endorsing any single viewpoint.
  • Citation Threshold: Every factual claim must be supported by at least one reliable, independent source. Original research or unpublished data is not permitted.
  • Living Person Policy: Articles about living individuals face stricter verification standards. Unresolved controversies must be clearly labeled as such, and defamation risks are prioritized.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Content involving indigenous knowledge, sacred traditions, or restricted cultural practices requires community consultation and explicit usage permissions.

🤖 AI-Assisted Content Boundaries

Aevum leverages artificial intelligence to enhance search, cross-reference sources, and draft initial article structures. However, AI-generated content is strictly bounded by human oversight.

AI Drafts ≠ Final Articles

AI outputs serve only as starting templates. Every published entry undergoes mandatory review by domain-verified human editors before going live.

No Autonomous Publishing

AI systems cannot publish, edit, or delete content without explicit human approval. All algorithmic suggestions are logged and auditable.

Transparency Labeling

Articles or sections significantly enhanced by AI summarization or translation carry a visible badge indicating the extent of machine assistance.
