Your Rights & Choices
Understanding how you can control your personal data, privacy preferences, and account information with Aevum News.
Committed to Your Privacy
At Aevum News, we believe transparency and user control are fundamental. Whether you're located in the EU, UK, California, or elsewhere, we respect your legal rights regarding personal data. This page outlines how you can exercise those rights, update your preferences, or request information about how we process your data.
You have the right to request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. This includes account details, reading preferences, subscription history, and any communications you've shared with us.
How to request: Submit a request through our secure form below or email privacy@aevumnews.com. We will respond within 30 days, or sooner where legally required.
What to expect: We'll provide a machine-readable file (typically CSV or JSON) containing your data, along with information about data sources, processing purposes, and retention periods.
If any information we hold about you is inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated, you have the right to request correction. We strive to keep our records current and will promptly update your information upon verification.
Common updates include:
- Name, email address, or phone number
- Billing and payment details
- Reading preferences and newsletter topics
- Account security settings
Changes take effect within 24–48 hours. You can also update most details directly in your Account Settings.
In certain circumstances, you may request the permanent deletion of your personal data. We will honor legitimate requests unless we are legally required to retain specific records (e.g., for tax, fraud prevention, or legal dispute resolution).
What gets deleted: Account profile, reading history, personalized recommendations, and marketing preferences.
What may remain: Aggregated analytics, anonymized usage data, and transaction records required by law. We will clearly explain any exemptions at the time of processing.
You control how we communicate with you. At any time, you can:
- Unsubscribe from promotional emails via the link at the bottom of any message
- Disable personalized content recommendations in your dashboard
- Opt out of interest-based advertising across partner networks
- Manage cookie preferences through our Privacy Center
Opting out of marketing will not affect your ability to access news content, though you may see generic recommendations instead of personalized ones.
Where applicable by law, you may request your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. This allows you to transfer your information to another service provider or keep a personal archive.
We support export formats including JSON and CSV. Your export package will include account metadata, content interaction logs, subscription details, and any user-generated content you've submitted.
You may request that we temporarily halt processing of your data while we verify accuracy, resolve a dispute, or determine if legitimate grounds for processing continue to apply.
You also have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests or direct marketing purposes. We will cease the specific processing activity promptly upon receiving a valid objection.
Aevum News uses automated systems to tailor content recommendations, detect fraud, and improve site performance. These systems do not make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
If you prefer not to have your behavior analyzed for personalization, you can disable profiling in your Privacy Settings. This will switch your experience to a default, non-personalized content stream.
