Victoria Reynolds
Victoria Reynolds has served as Aevum News's Privacy Ombudsman since 2018. Reporting directly to our Board of Directors with full operational independence, she oversees every aspect of how we collect, process, store, and protect personal data.
With over 12 years of experience in data privacy law, information governance, and editorial ethics, Victoria has established Aevum News's privacy framework as an industry benchmark for responsible data stewardship in digital journalism.
Core Privacy Principles
Six foundational principles that govern every interaction between Aevum News and the individuals we serve.
Transparency First
Every data practice is documented and communicated in plain language. No hidden clauses, no dark patterns — just honest, accessible explanations of what we do with your information and why.
Data Minimization
We collect only what is strictly necessary to deliver our services. Every data point is justified by a legitimate purpose, and we regularly purge information that is no longer needed.
User Sovereignty
You control your data. From access and correction to export and deletion, every right is actionable without friction. No account lockouts, no retaliation, no gatekeeping.
Security by Design
Encryption, access controls, and threat monitoring are baked into every system from day one. We don't bolt security on afterward — it is the foundation of our architecture.
Independent Oversight
Our Privacy Ombudsman operates with full independence from editorial, commercial, and executive functions. Findings and recommendations are published without redaction.
Accountability & Redress
When mistakes happen — and we own when they do — there is a clear path to resolution. Every complaint is investigated, every outcome documented, and every systemic issue corrected.
How to File a Complaint
A clear, confidential, and time-bound process for raising privacy concerns. Every complaint is treated with urgency and respect.
Submit Your Concern
Reach out via our encrypted email, secure web portal, or dedicated phone line. You can submit anonymously if preferred. Include any relevant details: what happened, when, and what information was involved. Attach any documentation you have.
Acknowledgment & Triage
You will receive a confirmation with a unique case reference number. The Privacy Ombudsman's office reviews your submission, categorizes the concern, and determines whether it requires immediate escalation or standard investigation.
Independent Investigation
The Ombudsman's team investigates the matter independently. This may include reviewing system logs, interviewing relevant staff, auditing data flows, and consulting legal counsel. You will receive progress updates at each milestone.
Findings & Resolution
You receive a detailed written report of the investigation's findings, any corrective actions taken, and recommendations for preventing recurrence. If the matter involves a legal claim, you are informed of your options for further recourse.
Follow-Up & Closure
We follow up to ensure corrective measures are in place and functioning as intended. Case findings are aggregated (anonymized) into our annual Privacy Accountability Report, published publicly.
Your Data Rights Under Law
Whether you're in the EU, California, or anywhere else, here are the rights you hold over your personal information.
Right to Access
Request a complete copy of all personal data Aevum News holds about you, including the sources, purposes, and recipients of that data. Response within 30 days.
Right to Rectification

Right to Erasure
Also known as the "right to be forgotten." You can request deletion of your personal data where there is no legitimate or legal reason for us to retain it.
Right to Portability
Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format (JSON, CSV) that you can transfer to another service. We facilitate this without restriction.
Right to Object
Object to the processing of your data for direct marketing, profiling, or any purpose based on legitimate interests. We honor opt-out requests immediately.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you are unsatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We will cooperate fully.
