About the Division

Aevum Robotics Labs designs and deploys next-generation autonomous systems for industrial manufacturing, logistics, and advanced research. Our hardware integration team bridges the gap between cutting-edge component design and scalable, production-ready robotic platforms. You'll work alongside firmware engineers, mechanical designers, and AI researchers to bring complex electromechanical systems to life.

Role Overview

As a Hardware Integration Engineer, you will lead the end-to-end integration of electronic subsystems, actuators, sensors, and control boards into our autonomous platforms. You'll prototype, test, troubleshoot, and optimize hardware architectures while ensuring compliance with safety, reliability, and manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and validate multi-domain hardware systems (power, compute, sensing, actuation) for mobile and fixed robotic platforms
  • Develop breadboard prototypes through DFM-ready designs using Altium/KiCad and mechanical CAD collaboration
  • Conduct electrical testing, signal integrity analysis, thermal validation, and EMI/EMC compliance testing
  • Write and maintain integration test plans, BOMs, and technical documentation for cross-functional teams
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware-software interface issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and automated test rigs
  • Partner with supply chain and manufacturing to ensure component availability, cost targets, and production scalability
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to division-wide hardware architecture guidelines

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in hardware integration, electronic design, or systems engineering
  • Proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium Designer, KiCad, or OrCAD)
  • Strong understanding of digital/analog circuits, power management, motor control, and communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, RS485)
  • Experience with test & measurement equipment and automated hardware test frameworks
  • Familiarity with embedded C/C++ and Linux-based debugging at the hardware interface level
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, iterative development cycles

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with ISO 13849, IEC 61508, or automotive/medical hardware safety standards
  • Background in SLAM systems, LiDAR/camera sensor integration, or high-voltage power electronics
  • Familiarity with Python/MATLAB for automated hardware testing and data analysis
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum in hardware development environments
