Machine Learning Engineering Lead
Role Overview
Aevum Zenth is expanding our Advanced AI division to drive cross-industry innovation. As the ML Engineering Lead, you will architect, build, and scale production-grade machine learning systems that power predictive maintenance for aerospace, optimize renewable energy grids, and fuel next-generation recommendation engines for our digital portfolio.
You will lead a team of 8-12 machine learning engineers and data scientists, establish MLOps standards across the conglomerate, and collaborate directly with division heads to translate complex research into reliable, enterprise-scale solutions.
🌍 This role reports to the VP of AI Infrastructure and offers direct exposure to Zenth's $12B annual R&D pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement distributed training pipelines for LLMs, diffusion models, and tabular/time-series architectures across multi-cloud environments.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing ML engineering team, fostering a culture of code quality, reproducibility, and innovation.
- Establish enterprise MLOps standards including CI/CD for models, feature stores, monitoring, drift detection, and automated retraining workflows.
- Collaborate with research scientists to productionize novel algorithms and translate proof-of-concepts into latency-optimized serving endpoints.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders in Energy, Aerospace, and Digital divisions to identify high-impact AI use cases and deliver measurable ROI.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging tools (vLLM, Ray, Kubernetes, MLflow, Kubeflow) to optimize compute efficiency and deployment scalability.
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or software engineering, with 3+ years in a technical leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of deploying large-scale ML systems to production (100M+ requests/day or equivalent edge/real-time workloads).
- Deep expertise in PyTorch/JAX, distributed training strategies, model optimization (quantization, pruning, distillation), and serving frameworks.
- Strong background in cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), containerization (Docker/K8s), and infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, managing technical roadmaps, and driving engineering best practices.
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge research, engineering, and business strategy.
