About the Role

Join Zenth Advanced Research as a Senior Quantum Computing Hardware Engineer and help build the next generation of fault-tolerant quantum processors. You will lead the design, fabrication, and integration of superconducting qubit architectures, cryogenic control systems, and microwave signal chains that power our proprietary quantum computing platforms.

This role sits at the intersection of quantum physics, electrical engineering, and advanced materials. You'll collaborate with theoretical physicists, software architects, and cryogenics specialists to scale our quantum systems from tens to thousands of qubits while maintaining coherence and minimizing error rates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and characterize superconducting qubit circuits, resonators, and coupling networks for scalable quantum architectures.
  • Develop low-temperature control electronics and microwave distribution systems operating within dilution refrigerators.
  • Lead qubit fabrication processes in collaboration with cleanroom teams, implementing novel lithography and etching techniques.
  • Perform comprehensive hardware validation, including T1/T2 relaxation measurements, gate fidelity benchmarking, and crosstalk analysis.
  • Integrate custom FPGA-based control boards with quantum orchestration software for real-time feedback and error correction.
  • Document experimental procedures, maintain traceability of hardware revisions, and present findings to cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum hardware, preferably superconducting circuits or trapped-ion systems.
  • Deep understanding of quantum mechanics, circuit QED, and open quantum systems.
  • Proficiency in RF/microwave engineering, PCB layout, and low-noise signal chain design.
  • Experience with cryogenic systems, dilution refrigerators, and thermal management below 20 mK.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C++ for data acquisition and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Published research in peer-reviewed journals or patents in quantum computing hardware is highly preferred.
