About the Role
We're expanding our Extended Reality research capabilities within Zenth Immersive Tech. As a UX Researcher XR, you'll pioneer how humans interact with spatial computing across our aerospace, healthcare, and industrial divisions. You'll conduct rigorous mixed-reality usability studies, map novel interaction paradigms, and translate complex behavioral data into actionable design systems for hardware and software teams.
This role sits at the intersection of cognitive science, spatial design, and enterprise technology. You'll collaborate with VR/AR engineers, 3D environment artists, and cross-divisional product leads to validate prototypes, reduce cognitive load in high-stakes environments, and define industry standards for spatial UX.
What You'll Do
- Design and execute end-to-end UX research studies for VR, AR, and MR applications in enterprise and consumer contexts.
- Conduct in-lab and field testing with headsets, haptic feedback systems, and gaze-tracking interfaces.
- Synthesize qualitative interviews, behavioral analytics, and eye-gaze/physiological data into comprehensive research reports.
- Collaborate with product designers to iterate on spatial UI components, locomotion systems, and hand-tracking interactions.
- Establish benchmarking frameworks for presence, comfort, motion sickness, and task efficiency in extended reality.
- Present research findings to engineering leads, division executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to Zenth's internal XR Design System documentation.
What We're Looking For
You bring a blend of academic rigor, hands-on XR experience, and a passion for human-centered spatial design.
- 3–5 years of experience in UX/User Research, with at least 2 years focused on VR, AR, or mixed reality.
- Proven track record designing research methodologies for immersive environments (moderation, lab setup, field studies).
- Strong proficiency in qualitative analysis tools (NVivo, Dovetail, Miro) and quantitative analytics (Python/R, GA4, Mixpanel).
- Familiarity with spatial design principles, 3D UI/UX, and interaction constraints in head-mounted displays.
- Experience working with Unity, Unreal Engine, or WebXR for rapid research prototyping is highly valued.
- Excellent presentation and storytelling skills; ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in HCI, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, or related field.
