Knowledge Base & FAQs

Why is my HomeHub flashing amber continuously?

Amber flashing indicates a failed OTA update or corrupted partition. Press and hold the reset pinhole for 10 seconds to trigger safe mode. Connect to your laptop via USB-C and run aevum-hub-cli --restore-factory to reinstall the base firmware.

How do I enable local-only automation?

Navigate to Settings > Network > Cloud Dependency. Toggle Force Local Execution to ON. This ensures scenes and triggers run entirely on the HomeHub's onboard ARM processor, reducing latency to <20ms even during internet outages.

What's the difference between Thread and Z-Wave on Aevum devices?

Thread uses IPv6-based mesh networking with built-in security and self-healing topology, ideal for new Matter-compatible devices. Z-Wave operates on sub-GHz with lower power draw and better wall penetration for legacy sensors. Aevum hubs support both simultaneously via dual-radio architecture.

My cameras are showing a 403 handshake error. What does this mean?

This occurs when the RTSP stream encryption key drifts from the hub's certificate store. Go to Devices > Cameras > Select Device > Security > and click Regenerate Stream Key. Re-pair the camera within 60 seconds. This resolves 94% of handshake failures.
