You expressly acknowledge that all automotive work is performed entirely at your own risk. Automotive DIY shall not be held liable for any injuries, damages, vehicle malfunctions, or losses resulting from your use of our content, tools, or recommendations.
3. Educational Purpose Only – No Professional Advice
All written guides, video tutorials, diagnostic interpretations, and community discussions provided by Automotive DIY are strictly for educational and informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional mechanical advice, engineering certification, or vehicle safety inspection.
Vehicle systems vary significantly by manufacturer, model year, trim, and modification history. You are solely responsible for verifying compatibility, consulting factory service manuals, and consulting ASE-certified professionals when in doubt.
4. User Responsibility & Safety Compliance
You agree to:

Automotive DIY does not endorse, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, safety, or quality of any third-party content, products, or services. All interactions with third parties are at your own risk.
6. Digital Content, Software & Diagnostics
All digital products, including OBD2 scanner firmware, diagnostic apps, PDF manuals, and software updates, are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation
- Compatibility with all vehicle makes/models or third-party hardware
- Accuracy of real-time sensor data or fault code interpretations
- Protection against unauthorized access, malware, or data loss
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any digital service at our sole discretion without prior notice.
7. Limitation of Damages
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Automotive DIY, its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, vehicle downtime, data loss, or personal injury, arising from or related to your use of our Services.
In no event shall our total aggregate liability exceed the amount you actually paid to access the specific product or service giving rise to the claim. If you accessed free content, our maximum liability shall not exceed $100.00 USD.
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Automotive DIY and its related parties from any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from:

- Your use of our Services or tools in violation of third-party rights or laws
- Vehicle modifications performed by you or under your supervision that result in damage to persons or property
9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration in Detroit, Michigan. You expressly waive your right to participate in class-action lawsuits or consolidated proceedings.
10. Severability
If any provision of this Limitation of Liability is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. We reserve the right to replace the invalid provision with a valid one that most closely reflects the original intent.
11. Updates to This Policy
We may revise this agreement at any time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or industry standards. Continued use of the Services after modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
