Section 8: Termination

8.1 Voluntary Termination by User

You may terminate your FlavorShare account at any time by accessing your account settings and selecting "Delete Account," or by sending a written request to support@flavorshare.com. Upon voluntary termination, your account will be deactivated within 48 hours. You retain the right to export your data, including recipes, photos, and profile information, for up to 30 days following your termination request.

8.2 Involuntary Termination by FlavorShare

FlavorShare reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account, temporarily or permanently, at its sole discretion and without prior notice if:

• You materially breach any provision of these Terms of Service or applicable privacy policies;
• You engage in fraudulent, harmful, or illegal activities on the platform;
• Your account has been inactive for a continuous period of 24 months;
• Continuation of your access poses a security risk to other users or the platform infrastructure;
• Required by applicable law, regulation, or competent authority.

For non-severe violations, FlavorShare will issue a written warning and provide a 14-day cure period before termination, unless immediate action is necessary to prevent harm or further breaches.

8.3 Effect of Termination & Data Handling

Upon termination, whether voluntary or involuntary:

1. Your access to all FlavorShare services, APIs, and member-only features will immediately cease;
2. Any outstanding payment obligations for premium subscriptions or featured recipe placements remain enforceable;
3. Personal data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including permanent deletion within 90 days unless retention is required for legal, fraud prevention, or tax compliance purposes;
4. Third-party integrations (e.g., social logins, meal planning calendars, smart kitchen devices) will be automatically disconnected.

8.4 Survival of Certain Provisions

Termination of your account or this agreement shall not relieve either party of obligations that by their nature should survive termination. The following provisions shall survive: Section 3 (Intellectual Property Rights), Section 5 (Payment & Billing Terms), Section 7 (Limitation of Liability), Section 9 (Dispute Resolution & Governing Law), Section 10 (Miscellaneous), and any indemnification obligations accrued prior to the termination date.
