Building the infrastructure
behind the world's fastest teams.

We are a collective of engineers, designers, and operators obsessed with removing friction from the software delivery lifecycle. Welcome to .git.

Our Story

What started as a frustration with slow CI/CD pipelines evolved into a movement for developer velocity.

2019

The Spark

Co-founders Elena Rostova and David Chen spent a weekend rewriting their deployment script after yet another failed production push. That script became the first commit of .git.

2021

Open Source Beginnings

We released the CLI tool as open source. Within six months, 40,000 developers were using it to streamline local development and staging environments.

2023

Platform Launch

Recognizing that developers needed more than a CLI, we built the full platform: automated previews, edge deployments, and AI-assisted pipelines.

2025

Scaling the Ecosystem

Today, .git powers deployments for over 12 million developers across startups, agencies, and Fortune 500 companies. We remain 100% developer-led.

What We Believe

Our principles aren't just posters on a wall. They're embedded in every line of code we ship and every decision we make.

⚡ Velocity Over Perfection

Shipping fast isn't reckless when built on reliable foundations. We optimize for iteration speed, knowing that feedback loops drive quality.

🔓 Radical Transparency

From pricing to post-mortems to roadmap priorities, we share context openly. Trust is built in the clear, not the shadows.

🧠 Developer-First Design

If it requires reading a 40-page manual to deploy a hello world, we've failed. We build for humans, not just machines.

🌍 Open Ecosystem

Walled gardens don't scale innovation. We integrate everywhere, publish our APIs early, and contribute heavily to the OSS community.

Meet the Architects

A small, senior team focused on deep expertise rather than headcount. No middle management, just builders.
