Important: These Terms of Service govern your use of the .git platform, APIs, developer tools, and related services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you are using the platform on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind them.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, deploying code, consuming APIs, or otherwise using the .git platform (collectively, the "Services"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These terms apply to all individuals, teams, and enterprises utilizing our infrastructure.

2. Accounts & Access

To access certain features, you must register for an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account or API keys. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.
  • Not share accounts, tokens, or credentials with third parties unless explicitly permitted via our team management features.

Accounts may be suspended or terminated if we suspect fraudulent activity, violation of these Terms, or failure to maintain valid payment information for paid plans.

3. Developer Usage & APIs

3.1 Rate Limits & Quotas

Free and tiered accounts are subject to usage quotas, API rate limits, and storage caps as outlined in our Pricing documentation. We reserve the right to enforce limits to ensure platform stability. Exceeding quotas may result in throttled requests or temporary suspension until the next billing cycle or plan upgrade.

3.2 Reverse Engineering

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code from .git's proprietary software, SDKs, or runtime environments, except where expressly permitted by applicable law.

3.3 Automated Access

Use of automated tools, scrapers, bots, or crawlers to interact with our platform or APIs is strictly prohibited without prior written consent. All integrations must use officially documented endpoints and authentication methods.

4. Intellectual Property

Our IP: The .git platform, including all software, documentation, APIs, branding, and infrastructure, is owned by .git and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services solely for their intended purpose.

Your Content: You retain all ownership rights to the source code, repositories, configuration files, and artifacts you upload to .git. By using our Services, you grant .git a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, cache, and deliver your content solely to operate the platform and provide you with deployments and backups.

Open Source: Any open-source components integrated into the platform remain subject to their respective licenses. We encourage responsible open-source usage and compliance with third-party license terms.

5. Data, Privacy & Security

Your use of personal data and your submission of data to .git are subject to our Privacy Policy. We implement industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3+) and at rest (AES-256), regular penetration testing, and ISO 27001/SOC 2 compliance controls.

While we maintain robust security practices, no system is completely impenetrable. You are responsible for securing your own data, environment variables, secrets, and deployment pipelines. .git does not store credentials you pass through build processes unless explicitly configured via our Secrets Manager.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the .git Services to:

  • Deploy malware, exploits, phishing content, or any material that compromises system integrity.
  • Engage in distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, spamming, or unauthorized bulk messaging.
  • Host or distribute content that violates applicable laws, including copyright infringement or illegal material.
  • Attempt to disrupt, degrade, or impair the platform or other users' experiences.

We reserve the right to audit, suspend, or remove content that violates this policy, and to report illegal activity to appropriate authorities.

7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. .git does not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly secure operations, and explicitly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, .git and its affiliates, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business opportunity, arising from your use or inability to use the Services.

Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Services is to discontinue use. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the fees you paid to .git during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time via the dashboard or by contacting support. Upon termination, your access will be revoked, and deployments will cease. Backups and data retention periods are governed by your plan tier and applicable data retention laws.

.git may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without notice, if you breach these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if required by law. Upon termination, all licenses granted herein will expire, and outstanding payment obligations remain enforceable.

9. Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in our services, technology, or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via email to the account owner and/or a prominent notice on the platform at least thirty (30) days prior to the effective date. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
