9. Termination
Effective Date: January 1, 2025
9.1 Your Right to Terminate
You may terminate your Paws Source account or subscription at any time by following the steps outlined in your account dashboard or by contacting our support team. Cancellations will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.
- Access Account Settings → Subscription → Cancel Plan to initiate cancellation.
- Alternatively, email support@pawssource.com with the subject line "Account Termination Request".
- You will receive a confirmation email once your termination has been processed.
9.2 Our Right to Terminate
Paws Source reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to our services, with or without prior notice, in the following circumstances:
- Material breach of these Terms of Service or our Acceptable Use Policy.
- Failure to resolve outstanding payment obligations after a reasonable grace period.
- Engaging in fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activities, including misrepresentation of pet-related information.
- Abuse of automated systems, APIs, or subscription features (e.g., sharing account credentials, unauthorized reselling).
- Discontinuation of services in your geographic region or for regulatory/compliance reasons.
Where permissible under applicable law, Paws Source will provide written notice describing the reason for termination and, where applicable, a reasonable cure period.
9.3 Effects of Termination
Upon termination, whether by you or by Paws Source:
- Your access to premium features, veterinary consultations, and restricted content will immediately cease.
- Active orders for physical products will be fulfilled unless payment fails or we exercise termination rights for cause.
- Any outstanding invoices become immediately due and payable.
- Prohibited use of the Paws Source name, logos, trademarks, or proprietary technology continues to be restricted.
9.4 Refunds & Prorated Charges
Paws Source operates on a prepaid subscription model. Unless otherwise stated in a specific promotion or required by local consumer protection laws:
- No refunds will be issued for unused portions of a completed billing cycle.
- Refund requests related to service failures or unauthorized charges must be submitted within 30 days of the transaction date.
- Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your financial institution.
9.5 Data Retention & Privacy Post-Termination
Upon account termination, we will securely deactivate your profile within 30 days. However, we may retain certain data as required by law, for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or regulatory compliance. This may include:
- Transaction records, invoices, and payment histories
- Veterinary consultation logs (anonymized where possible)
- Communication records related to support or disputes
To request deletion of eligible personal data post-termination, please submit a Data Subject Request via our Privacy Policy portal. Retained data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.
9.6 Survival
The following provisions shall survive termination of this agreement: Payment Obligations, Intellectual Property Rights, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Dispute Resolution, and any other provisions that by their nature are intended to survive.
