8. Termination

8.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your Sitemap.xml account and discontinue use of the Services at any time by following the cancellation procedures outlined in your account dashboard or by contacting our Support team at support@sitemap.xml.
Note: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Refunds for partial billing periods are not provided unless explicitly stated in your plan documentation or required by applicable law.
8.2 Termination by Sitemap.xml
Sitemap.xml reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to all or any part of the Services at any time, without prior notice, for any of the following reasons:
- Material breach or violation of these Terms of Service or any associated policies;
- Failure to pay applicable fees within the grace period specified in our billing policies;
- Engaging in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activities that could harm the Services, other users, or third parties;
- Prolonged account inactivity exceeding 12 consecutive months, subject to prior email notification;
- Requirement by applicable law, regulation, or lawful government request.
Where feasible, we will provide reasonable notice prior to termination for non-payment or inactivity reasons.
8.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination or cancellation of your account for any reason:
- Your right to access and use the Services will immediately cease;
- Any outstanding fees accrued prior to termination remain immediately payable;
- We will retain your exported data, sitemaps, and configuration files for a period of 30 days post-termination to allow for final retrieval. After this period, all associated data will be permanently deleted from our active systems in accordance with our data retention policy;
- API keys, webhook endpoints, and service tokens will be instantly revoked.
8.4 Survival
Notwithstanding termination, the following provisions of these Terms shall survive and continue to be enforceable:
- Intellectual property rights and licensing restrictions;
- Payment obligations and refund limitations;
- Limitation of liability and disclaimers;
- Indemnification obligations;
- Dispute resolution, governing law, and jurisdiction clauses;
- Any other provision that by its nature is intended to survive termination.
