Nomenclature Key
Staple size notation (e.g., 24/8): First number = wire gauge (thicker wire = lower number). Second number = leg length in 10/32nds of an inch (e.g., 8 = 8/32" ≈ 6.35mm). Crown width varies by product line. Contact our engineering team for full nomenclature reference.

Gauge Selection Guidance
Lower AWG numbers indicate thicker wire and greater strength. For document stacks over 25 sheets, we recommend 8/0 gauge or Heavy-Duty series. Binding applications require 23/0 gauge minimum. Incorrect gauge selection may cause stapler jams or insufficient fastening.

Testing Conditions
Sheet capacity tested at 23°C ± 2°C, 50% ± 5% relative humidity. Paper: standard office bond, 210 × 297mm (A4). Stapling performed with calibrated Brother P-515L automatic stapler at standard force setting. Failure defined as staple inability to hold test stack when subjected to 2N pull force perpendicular to crown.

Technical FAQ
Common questions about our staple specifications
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| What does "24/8" mean? | The first number (24) refers to the wire gauge — a 24-gauge wire is approximately 0.51mm in diameter. The second number (8) refers to leg length in 10/32nds of an inch, so 8 = 8/32" ≈ 6.35mm (actual leg length is approximately 4.0mm after crown deduction). |
| Can you produce custom crown widths? | Yes. Our custom program supports crown widths from 3.0mm to 25.0mm in 0.5mm increments. Minimum order quantity for custom dimensions is 500,000 staples. Lead time is typically 3–4 weeks. |
| Are your staples RoHS compliant? | Yes, all StapleCraft Pro staples comply with EU Directive 2011/65/EU (RoHS 3). Our zinc and chrome coatings contain no restricted substances above threshold limits. |
| What is the minimum order quantity? | Standard products: 10,000 staples (100 strips). Heavy-Duty: 50,000 staples (1 master case). Custom: 500,000 staples. Volume discounts apply at 1M, 5M, and 10M+ units. |
| Do you provide CoA with every shipment? | Yes. Every batch includes a Certificate of Analysis with test results for dimensional measurements, coating thickness, and tensile strength. Digital CoA is available via the client portal; printed copies ship with pallet orders. |
| What is your typical lead time? | Standard products from stock: 3–5 business days. Standard products to order: 10–14 business days. Custom specifications: 3–5 weeks. Rush orders available at surcharge. |
| Can staples be used in extreme temperatures? | Standard zinc-coated staples maintain performance from -20°C to 60°C. For extreme environments, our heavy zinc-coated line is rated to -30°C to 80°C. Contact us for cryogenic or high-temperature specialty alloys. |
| What testing standards do you follow? | Dimensional: ISO 2768-mK. Tensile: ASTM A228 / ASTM E8. Hardness: ASTM E18. Salt spray: ASTM B117. Surface roughness: ISO 4287. Packaging: ASTM D4169 / ISTA 1A. |
