Account & Subscription Termination Policy
Welcome to The Daily Pulse. This Termination Policy outlines the procedures, rights, and obligations regarding the cancellation or suspension of your subscription, account, or access to our services. By using The Daily Pulse, you acknowledge and agree to the terms detailed below.
1. User-Initiated Termination
You may terminate your subscription or account at any time. To initiate termination:
- Log in to your account dashboard and navigate to Settings → Subscription → Cancel Plan.
- Alternatively, send a written request to support@thedailypulse.com with the subject line "Account Termination Request".
2. Company-Initiated Termination
The Daily Pulse reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account or subscription at our sole discretion, with or without notice, in the following circumstances:
- Violation of Terms: Breach of our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or Acceptable Use Policy.
- Payment Failure: Repeated failed payment attempts or fraudulent billing information.
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, or court orders.
- Inactivity: Accounts inactive for more than 24 consecutive months may be archived or terminated.
- Service Discontinuation: Permanent or temporary suspension of specific features or the entire platform.
Where feasible, we will provide written notice via the email address associated with your account at least 14 days prior to termination, unless immediate action is required to mitigate harm or comply with legal obligations.
3. Refund & Billing Adjustments
Upon termination:
- Outstanding invoices remain payable.
- Annual subscription holders who cancel within 30 days of purchase may request a prorated refund, subject to verification.
- Third-party payment processors (e.g., credit card networks, PayPal) must be contacted directly for chargeback disputes within their specified windows.
4. Data Retention & Post-Termination Rights
After termination, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy:
- Account data required for legal, tax, or fraud prevention purposes may be retained for up to 7 years.
- You may request a complete export of your data (articles saved, reading history, settings) prior to or immediately following termination.
- To request permanent deletion of all non-legally-required data, submit a request via our Data Request Portal.
5. Reinstatement & Re-Subscription
Terminated accounts may be reinstated upon request, subject to:
- Verification of identity and billing information.
- Clearance of any outstanding balances.
- Compliance with current Terms of Service.
Previous subscription history, saved articles, and preferences may not be recoverable after 30 days from termination.
