Historical Timeline

1969 – 1989

Pre-Web Networks & ARPANET

Academic and military research networks laid the groundwork for packet switching. Email, FTP, and Usenet emerged as primary communication protocols before graphical interfaces existed.

1990 – 1994

Birth of the World Wide Web

Tim Berners-Lee's HTTP/HTML specifications enabled hyperlink navigation. Mosaic and Netscape introduced graphical browsers. Early sites relied on basic HTML, inline images, and manual link directories.

1995 – 1999

The Dot-Com Boom & Web Culture
