Help Us Preserve the Web
We're building the definitive record of the early internet. Join a remote-first team of engineers, archivists, historians, and designers dedicated to keeping digital history alive.
Find Your Role
We're looking for curious minds who care about digital preservation, clean code, and the strange beauty of the early web.
Senior Preservation Engineer
Build and maintain our crawling infrastructure. Work with legacy protocols, HTTP/1.1 archives, and large-scale HTML normalization pipelines.
Digital Archivist (GeoCities Division)
Categorize, tag, and restore recovered GeoCities pages. Requires keen eye for early web aesthetics and meticulous documentation skills.
Frontend Developer (Retro UI)
Develop our archival viewer using modern frameworks while maintaining pixel-perfect compatibility with Netscape-era rendering quirks.
Infrastructure & DevOps Lead
Manage distributed storage, backup chains, and cold storage retrieval systems. Experience with S3, IPFS, and immutable logs preferred.
Web History Research Analyst
Conduct academic and cultural research on late-90s web trends. Publish monthly preservation reports and assist in grant applications.
Built for Builders & Preservers
We believe in sustainable work, meaningful impact, and a culture that values curiosity over hustle.
Truly Remote
Work from anywhere. Async-first communication with flexible core hours across timezones.
Learning Stipend
Annual budget for conferences, courses, books, or retro hardware experiments.
Equity & Ownership
Meaningful equity grants for all full-time roles. We're building this together.
Health & Wellness
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage. Unlimited PTO that's actually encouraged.
Hardware Allowance
Choose your own stack. We'll fund your workstation, monitors, and peripherals.
Purpose-Driven
Directly contribute to open educational resources and digital heritage preservation.
We Value Curiosity Over Credentials
You don't need to know how to center a div in 1998, but you should care why it matters. We hire people who ask questions, document everything, and treat digital artifacts with respect.
- 01. Preservation isn't a feature, it's the product.
- 02. Ship clean code, but never sacrifice historical accuracy.
- 03. Documentation is a love language.
- 04. Async by default, synchronous by choice.
Don't See Your Role?
We're always looking for passionate people. Tell us about yourself, your background, and what draws you to digital preservation.
