The 1990 Web Archive was founded in 1994 by internet pioneers who recognized the fragility of early web content. With the constant churn of the internet and the fragility of early web servers, many of the first web pages were being lost forever.

Our mission is to preserve the dawn of the World Wide Web for future generations. We have archived over 4.2 million pages from 1990 to the present day, with a special focus on the golden age of the web (1990-1999).
