Content Review Process
Every reported piece of content goes through a structured review workflow designed to be fair, efficient, and transparent.
Report Received & Triage
The system categorizes the report by severity (Critical, Major, Minor, or Warning) and assigns it to the appropriate review queue. Critical reports are flagged for immediate attention.
AI Pre-Screening
Our AI engine analyzes the content against known violation patterns, cross-references cited claims, and provides a risk assessment to the assigned moderator.
Human Moderator Review
A trained moderator evaluates the content in context, reviews supporting evidence, consults guidelines, and makes a determination. Complex cases are escalated to senior moderators or subject-matter experts.
Action & Notification
The appropriate action is taken (removal, edit, warning, etc.), the reporter is notified of the outcome, and if applicable, the content author is informed with an opportunity to appeal.
Violation Categories
We classify content violations into four severity tiers. Understanding these helps you report issues more accurately and sets expectations for response times.
| Category | Severity | Examples | Response Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Harmful / Illegal Content | Critical | Violent threats, illegal material, terrorism promotion | < 15 min |
| Hate Speech & Discrimination | Critical | Dehumanizing language, slurs, incitement against protected groups | < 30 min |
| Harassment & Abuse | Major | Targeted harassment, doxxing, personal attacks | < 2 hours |
| Misinformation | Major | Demonstrably false claims, debunked pseudoscience | < 24 hours |

Enforcement Actions
Depending on the severity of the violation and the contributor's history, our moderation team applies graduated enforcement measures.
Warning & Notice
A formal warning is issued to the contributor explaining the violation and linking to the relevant guideline. The content may be edited or hidden temporarily.
Content Removal
The violating content is removed or restricted. The contributor's account receives a strike and editorial privileges may be temporarily limited.
Temporary Suspension
The account is suspended from editing and contributing for a defined period (7â30 days). All pending contributions are placed under review.
Permanent Ban
Reserved for severe, repeated, or deliberate violations. The account is permanently disabled and all content is subject to full editorial review.
All enforcement actions are logged and can be reviewed through the appeals process. We believe in fairness and due process for every contributor. No action is taken without documented evidence and moderator consensus.
Appeals Process
If you believe a moderation action was applied incorrectly or unfairly, you have the right to appeal. All appeals are reviewed by a separate panel of senior moderators who were not involved in the original decision.
Submit Appeal
Use our appeal form within 30 days of the enforcement action. Include the action reference number and your justification.
Panel Assignment
A panel of 3 senior moderators is randomly assigned to your case. You can request the recusal of any panel member with a conflict of interest.
Deliberation
The panel reviews the original evidence, your appeal statement, and any additional context. Deliberation typically takes 3â5 business days.
Final Decision
A majority vote determines the outcome: uphold, modify, or reverse the original action. The decision is final and communicated in writing within 24 hours of the vote.
Appeals can also be submitted directly to appeals@aevum-encyclopedia.com. For urgent matters involving critical account access, please call our moderation hotline at +1 (888) 555-AEVM.
