All original content published on Aevum Encyclopedia—including but not limited to articles, metadata, editorial structures, knowledge graphs, AI-generated summaries, illustrations, and platform architecture—is the exclusive intellectual property of Aevum Encyclopedia, its editorial board, and contributing partners, unless otherwise explicitly stated.

Copyright protection extends across all media formats, languages, and distribution channels. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or modification of proprietary assets without proper licensing constitutes infringement under applicable international copyright law.

02 Licensing Framework

Aevum Encyclopedia operates under a tiered licensing model designed to balance open knowledge sharing with sustainable platform development:

• Core Articles: Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0)
• AI-Enhanced Features & Graphs: Licensed under the Aevum Proprietary License (APL 2.1) — non-commercial use permitted; commercial use requires written authorization.
• Historical & Public Domain Content: Provided for educational reference only; original sourcing and copyright status are preserved and cited.
• Contributor Submissions: Licensed under CC0 1.0 Universal upon submission, granting Aevum perpetual rights to distribute, modify, and relicense.

03 Permitted Uses

You may freely use Aevum Encyclopedia content for the following purposes without prior approval:

• Educational instruction, academic research, and classroom materials

04 Attribution Requirements

05 Commercial & AI Training Use

Commercial Use: Monetization, resale, incorporation into paid services, or use in commercial publications requires an explicit commercial license. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may involve royalty agreements or flat licensing fees.

AI Model Training: The use of Aevum Encyclopedia content to train, fine-tune, or benchmark machine learning models, large language models, or generative AI systems is strictly prohibited without a dedicated Enterprise Data License. This restriction protects data integrity, prevents hallucination propagation, and ensures compensation for community contributions.

06 Derivative Works

Modifications, translations, compilations, or adaptations of Aevum content must:

07 User Contributions

By submitting articles, edits, media, or data to Aevum Encyclopedia, you certify that you own the content or have legal authority to license it. You retain moral rights but grant Aevum a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, modify, distribute, and sublicense your contribution.

Contributors may request content removal under specific conditions, though previously distributed derivatives may remain available under existing licenses.

08 Dispute Resolution & Takedowns

Aevum Encyclopedia complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and equivalent international frameworks. To report unauthorized use or submit a takedown notice, provide:

• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
• Location of the infringing material (URL(s))

• A statement of good faith belief regarding non-permitted use

Submissions are reviewed within 5–7 business days. Counter-notifications are processed in accordance with applicable law.
