How We Maintain Integrity
Ownership & Funding
Aevum News is privately owned and fully reader-supported. We accept no funding from political campaigns, lobbying groups, or partisan organizations. Advertising revenue is strictly separated from editorial decision-making via an internal firewall.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial board operates autonomously. Executives and investors hold zero voting rights over story selection, framing, or publication timing. All major editorial decisions are documented and reviewed quarterly.
Sourcing & Verification
Every published story must include at least two independent, verifiable sources. Anonymous sources are only used when necessary and are vetted by our senior editorial team. We clearly label verified facts, claims, and expert opinions.
News vs. Opinion
We strictly separate straight reporting from commentary. Opinion pieces, analysis, and editorials are clearly marked. Writers are not permitted to pitch opinion pieces on topics they currently cover as straight news.
Corrections Policy
Mistakes happen. When they do, we correct them prominently. All substantive corrections are logged publicly within 24 hours, include an explanation, and are linked from the original article permanently.
Conflict of Interest
Journalists must disclose any personal, financial, or professional relationships that could influence coverage. If a conflict cannot be mitigated, the journalist recuses themselves from the assignment.

Bias isn't eliminated by a single rule—it's managed through systemic checks. Our editorial workflow includes multiple layers of review designed to catch framing bias, selection bias, and confirmation bias before publication.
- Multi-Editor Review: Every article is reviewed by at least two editors who were not involved in the original reporting to ensure balanced framing.
- Opposing Viewpoint Check: On polarized topics, our editors verify that credible counter-arguments are represented proportionally to their real-world presence.
- Language Audit: We maintain a neutral-style guide. Loaded adjectives, emotive phrasing, and unverified assumptions are flagged and revised.
- Algorithmic Transparency: Our recommendation engine prioritizes relevance and diversity of perspective, not engagement-driven polarization. Users can adjust feed preferences anytime.
- Quarterly Bias Audits: Independent media watchdogs review a randomized sample of our published content each quarter. Reports are published in full.
