Core Principles

Healthy discourse requires mutual respect and intellectual honesty. Our standards are designed to protect users, preserve the integrity of our journalism, and encourage meaningful conversation.

  • Respectful Engagement: Disagree with ideas, not people. Maintain a civil tone even during heated debates.
  • Authenticity: Participate as yourself. Do not impersonate journalists, officials, or other users.
  • Context & Accuracy: Share information responsibly. Misleading claims or deliberately distorted context undermine trust.
  • Relevance: Keep discussions related to the article or topic at hand. Off-topic promotion or spam is not permitted.
  • Privacy: Do not share personal information about yourself or others without explicit consent.

Prohibited Content & Behavior

Violations of these standards may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent banning. The following is strictly prohibited:

Zero Tolerance Violations

  • Hate speech, harassment, or threats targeting protected characteristics
  • Incitement to violence, self-harm, or illegal activity
  • Sexual exploitation, explicit material, or non-consensual imagery
  • Coordinated disinformation campaigns or astroturfing
  • Scams, phishing, malware links, or financial fraud
  • Impersonation of Aevum News staff, editors, or public figures

Additionally, repetitive spam, excessive profanity, deliberate trolling, and bypassing moderation systems will be addressed proportionally.

Moderation & Enforcement

Our community is moderated by a dedicated team using a combination of automated filters and human review. Enforcement follows a transparent, graduated approach:

01

Warning

Minor violations receive a notice with specific guidance on policy compliance.

02

Content Removal

Violating content is taken down. Recurring issues trigger temporary restrictions.

03

Temporary Suspension

Repeated or moderate violations result in restricted posting privileges for a set period.

04

Permanent Ban

Severe, repeated, or zero-tolerance violations result in permanent account termination.

All moderation decisions are logged and may be appealed through our official support channel. Context matters—we evaluate intent, impact, and pattern of behavior.

Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these standards, we encourage you to report it. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours by our moderation team. You will receive a confirmation once the report has been processed.

If you believe a moderation action was applied in error, you may submit an appeal through your account settings or via our support team. Appeals are reviewed by a senior moderator and typically resolved within 3–5 business days.
