Are these downloads safe and virus-free?
Yes. All Aevum News binaries are cryptographically signed, scanned by third-party security vendors, and published through verified channels. Checksums (SHA-256) are provided on each download page for verification.
Do I need an account to use the apps?
You can browse headlines and read free articles without an account. For offline reading, bookmark syncing, and premium access, a free Aevum account is required.
How do I verify the digital signature?
Use the provided .sig files alongside our public GPG key (available at /keys). Run: gpg --verify aevum-app.sig aevum-app.dmg
Why is the Android APK not on the Play Store?
We distribute via our site to maintain full control over update cycles, avoid platform restrictions on news APIs, and provide direct sideloading for users in regions with limited store access. It is fully safe to install.
Can I use the API for commercial projects?
Commercial usage requires a paid API tier and attribution agreement. Non-commercial and academic projects are free up to 10,000 requests/month. See our API pricing page for details.
