01 Purpose & Scope
This Global Code of Conduct establishes the ethical standards, professional responsibilities, and operational guidelines that govern all employees, contractors, freelancers, and affiliated partners of Aevum News. It applies to all activities conducted under the Aevum News brand, across all platforms, regions, and time zones.
Our mission is to deliver journalism that is accurate, impartial, and impactful. This code ensures that every decision made in pursuit of that mission aligns with the highest standards of integrity and public trust.
02 Core Ethical Principles
Every member of the Aevum News organization shall adhere to the following foundational principles:
Truth & Accuracy
Information must be rigorously verified before publication. Corrections must be prompt and transparent.
Impartiality
Reporting must be free from bias, prejudice, and undisclosed influence. Fairness is non-negotiable.
Accountability
We accept responsibility for our work, welcome scrutiny, and maintain open channels for feedback.
Human Dignity
Subjects, sources, and audiences deserve respect, sensitivity, and protection from unnecessary harm.
03 Editorial Independence
Aevum News maintains strict separation between editorial content and commercial, political, or external interests. No advertiser, sponsor, government entity, or internal executive may influence editorial decisions, story selection, or framing.
- Editorial assignments are determined solely by news value and public interest.
- Opinion and analysis must be clearly labeled and visually separated from news reporting.
- Partnerships with third-party platforms or data providers must not compromise editorial autonomy.
- Any attempt to influence coverage must be documented and reported to the Editor-in-Chief.
04 Accuracy & Verification
Accuracy is the cornerstone of our credibility. All published content must undergo appropriate verification procedures proportionate to the story's scope and potential impact.
Verification Standards
- Multi-Source Confirmation: Critical claims must be corroborated by at least two independent, credible sources unless circumstances justify otherwise.
- Documentary Evidence: Photos, videos, and documents must be authenticated for origin, metadata integrity, and context.
- Right of Reply: Subjects of critical reporting must be given a reasonable opportunity to respond prior to publication.
- Correction Protocol: Errors must be corrected promptly, with clear notation of what changed and why. Major corrections require editorial review and public notice.
05 Conflicts of Interest
Employees must avoid situations where personal, financial, or familial interests could reasonably appear to influence journalistic judgment.
- Financial holdings in companies or sectors being covered must be disclosed and divested if necessary.
- Acceptance of gifts, hospitality, travel, or payment from sources, subjects, or advertisers is strictly prohibited.
- Personal relationships with public figures or organizations under coverage require immediate disclosure to editorial management.
- Side businesses or external speaking engagements must be pre-approved and cannot compete with or leverage Aevum News access.

All staff represent Aevum News in professional capacities. Digital conduct reflects directly on our reputation and journalistic standards.
- Official Channels: Content posted on Aevum News accounts must align with editorial standards and undergo appropriate review.
