Our Mission

Aevum News exists to deliver journalism that informs, clarifies, and empowers. In an era of information overload and competing narratives, we commit to a singular standard: the truth, reported with rigor, context, and respect for our audience.

These standards apply to all editors, reporters, producers, photographers, data journalists, and freelancers contributing to Aevum News across all platforms and formats.

Core Promise: We will never sacrifice accuracy for speed, independence for access, or principle for profit.

Accuracy & Verification

Accuracy is the foundation of public trust. Every piece of information published under the Aevum News name undergoes a structured verification process before publication.

01

Source Validation

Primary sources are prioritized. Claims must be corroborated by at least two independent, credible sources.

02

Editorial Review

All articles pass through senior editors for factual checking, tone assessment, and legal compliance.

03

Context & Balance

Stories are framed with necessary background, opposing viewpoints where relevant, and clear distinction between fact and analysis.

04

Post-Publication Monitoring

Published work is continuously monitored for developments. Updates or clarifications are added as needed.

Independence & Ethics

Aevum News maintains strict editorial independence. Our reporting is not influenced by advertisers, political affiliations, corporate sponsors, or external pressure.

  • No Paid Content as News: Sponsored material is clearly labeled and kept entirely separate from editorial coverage.
  • Conflict of Interest: Staff must disclose any personal, financial, or professional relationships that could influence reporting. When conflicts exist, staff recuse themselves from coverage.
  • Gifts & Hospitality: Journalists may not accept gifts, travel, or entertainment from sources or subjects of coverage.
  • Political Neutrality: We do not endorse candidates, parties, or political movements. Our role is to report, not to advocate.

Corrections & Accountability

No news organization is infallible. When we make an error, we acknowledge it promptly, correct it transparently, and explain what was wrong.

  • Minor Errors: Corrected silently if they do not affect the substance of the story, unless pointed out by readers.
  • Significant Errors: Corrected immediately with a note at the top of the article detailing the correction and its reason.
  • Editor’s Note: Added when necessary context has changed post-publication or when clarification is needed without altering facts.
  • Reader Feedback: All corrections requests are reviewed within 24 hours. Substantiated errors are published on our Corrections page and archived.

Commitment: Corrections are never hidden. They are a sign of integrity, not failure.

Sources & Attribution

Credible journalism relies on credible sourcing. We adhere to strict guidelines for how we identify, use, and attribute sources.

Anonymous Sources

Used only when necessary to protect individuals from harm, retaliation, or legal jeopardy, and when the information is of significant public interest. Anonymous sources require explicit approval from the Managing Editor and must be corroborated by documentary evidence or additional sources.

Attribution Standards

Every claim, statistic, or quote must be attributed to its origin. When information is publicly available, we link directly to primary documents, data sets, or official records. We never disguise analysis or opinion as factual reporting.

Multimedia & Data Journalism

Visual and data-driven content are held to the same standards as written journalism.

  • Photography & Video: Images are never digitally altered to change meaning. Cropping, color correction, and brightness adjustments must not distort reality. All photos include full captions with date, location, and photographer.
  • Data & Infographics: All data sources are cited. Methodologies are explained. When data is incomplete or estimated, limitations are clearly stated. Code and raw data are made available upon request.
  • AI & Synthetic Media: AI-generated content is not used for news reporting. If AI tools are used for workflow assistance, their use is disclosed. Deepfakes or manipulated media used by sources are labeled and contextualized.
