Third-Party Data Sharing & Disclosure Policy

📅 Effective Date: January 15, 2025 🔄 Last Updated: February 02, 2025 🌐 Applies To: AevumNews.com & associated services

1. Introduction & Transparency Commitment

At Aevum News, journalistic integrity extends beyond our reporting to how we handle user data. We believe transparency is foundational to trust. This document outlines precisely when, why, and how we share information with third-party service providers, partners, and platforms.

Our Promise: We do not sell your personal information. Any data shared with third parties is strictly limited to service delivery, analytics improvement, legal compliance, or explicit user consent.

2. Information We Collect & Share

We only share data that is necessary for the specific purpose outlined below. This includes:

  • Usage Data: Page views, click patterns, session duration, and device information.
  • Account Information: Name, email address, and subscription preferences (if you create an account).
  • Location Data: Approximate geographic region based on IP address (never precise GPS coordinates).
  • Cookies & Identifiers: Browser IDs, advertising IDs, and tracking tokens used for analytics and personalization.

We explicitly do not share sensitive personal data, financial details, health information, or protected political affiliations without your explicit opt-in consent.

3. Third-Party Categories & Purposes

We partner with carefully vetted third parties to maintain a fast, secure, and personalized reading experience. These partners fall into four primary categories:

🔹 Infrastructure & Cloud Services

Providers hosting our servers, CDN delivery, email newsletters, and customer support platforms. They access data solely to operate and secure our services.

🔹 Analytics & Performance

Tools that help us understand readership trends, content engagement, and site performance. Data is aggregated and anonymized where possible.

🔹 Advertising & Monetization

Trusted ad networks that deliver contextual and interest-based ads. We enforce strict consent management and exclude sensitive data categories from targeting.

🔹 Legal & Compliance

Regulatory bodies, law enforcement, or legal advisors when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and user safety.

4. Advertising & Analytics Partners

To sustain independent journalism, Aevum News utilizes targeted advertising and audience measurement tools. All partners comply with IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) standards and GDPR/CCPA requirements.

  • Google Analytics & Firebase: For traffic analysis and site optimization. Data is retained for 14 months and anonymized by default.
  • Consent Management Platform (CMP): OneTrust/Transcend (depending on region) to manage your cookie and tracking preferences.
  • Advertising Partners: Contextual ad delivery via certified exchanges. We disable cross-site tracking by default and offer a paid ad-free subscription tier.

You can review and modify your ad preferences at any time via our Privacy Dashboard.

5. Editorial & Content Partnerships

Aevum News occasionally collaborates with wire services, research institutes, and independent journalists. When content is co-published or embedded:

  • Third-party content may include their own tracking pixels or cookies. We cannot control these external scripts but disclose their presence.
  • We do not share our subscriber database with editorial partners unless you explicitly opt-in to newsletters or cross-promotional campaigns.
  • All syndicated content is clearly labeled with its original source and licensing terms.

7. Your Rights & Controls

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Opt out of personalized advertising
  • Withdraw consent for tracking technologies
  • Request a portable copy of your data
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

Manage your preferences directly through your Account Settings or use browser-level controls (Do Not Track, cookie blockers, or private browsing modes). For ad-specific opt-outs, visit Network Advertising Initiative or Digital Advertising Alliance.

8. Security & Safeguards

Every third-party processor we engage must sign strict Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) aligned with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II standards. We enforce:

  • End-to-end TLS 1.3 encryption for all data in transit
  • AES-256 encryption for stored personal data
  • Regular third-party security audits and penetration testing
  • Automatic contract termination for compliance breaches

Despite these measures, no digital transmission is 100% secure. We encourage users to use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication.

9. Policy Updates

Privacy regulations and third-party ecosystems evolve. We will update this policy as needed to reflect legal changes, new services, or operational improvements. Material changes will be communicated via:

  • On-site banner notification
  • Email to registered accounts
  • Updated "Last Modified" date above

Continued use of Aevum News services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
