ChessMaster Forum is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive, and competitive environment for chess enthusiasts of all skill levels. These guidelines apply to all platform areas: forums, live chats, tournament lobbies, game analysis boards, and direct messages.

We expect all members to interact with respect and integrity. Chess is a game of strategy, not hostility.

• Zero Tolerance for Harassment: Hate speech, discrimination, bullying, or threats of any kind will result in immediate and permanent suspension.
• Respect Boundaries: Keep interactions professional. Unsolicited private messages, especially of a romantic or explicit nature, are strictly prohibited.
• Inclusivity: We welcome players of all backgrounds, genders, ages, and skill levels. Mocking beginners is against our ethos.
• Dispute Resolution: Keep disagreements civil. Personal attacks or flaming will not be tolerated, even in heated post-game discussions.

Quality discussions drive our community. Follow these guidelines to keep the forum organized and useful.

• Use Proper Categories: Post in the correct board. Misplaced threads will be moved or deleted without notice.
• Clear Titles & Formatting: Use descriptive subject lines. Avoid ALL CAPS or clickbait titles.
• No Spam or Self-Promotion: Advertising external sites, bots, or services requires explicit moderator approval. Repeated violations will be penalized.
• Fact-Based Discussions: When sharing analysis or theories, cite sources where possible. Avoid spreading unverified rumors or "chess myths" as fact.
• Language Policy: English is the primary forum language. Other languages are welcome in designated sub-boards.

Fair play is non-negotiable. Integrity on the board reflects integrity in the community.

• Strict No-Cheat Policy: Use of chess engines, AI assistants, opening books during play, or external coaching during live games is strictly forbidden. Violators will face permanent bans and rating resets.
• Draw Offers: Do not spam draw offers. Offering a draw in winning positions or immediately after a move may be considered bad faith.
• Time Control Respect: Intentional stalling, rapid clicking, or disconnecting to avoid loss/time forfeit is prohibited.
• Post-Game Conduct: Use the built-in analysis board. Do not accuse others of cheating without evidence or official reports. Rude chat messages post-game will be logged.

Tournaments are competitive events with stricter standards. By registering, you agree to:

• Log in at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.
• Play all assigned rounds. Forfeiting multiple rounds may result in tournament disqualification.
• Accept match results and tournament administration decisions. Disputes must be filed within 24 hours of conclusion.
• Refrain from team play in individual tournaments unless explicitly stated as a team event.

Our moderation team reviews reports and enforces guidelines fairly and transparently. Penalties are scaled to the severity and frequency of violations.

All enforcement actions can be appealed via the Support Portal within 14 days. Appeals are reviewed by a senior moderator panel.

We rely on our community to help maintain standards. If you witness a violation:

• Use the "Report" button on any post, profile, or game page.
• For ongoing harassment, use Direct Message Block & Report features.
• Suspicious gameplay can be flagged directly from the analysis board.
• Do not confront violators aggressively. Let the moderation team handle investigations.
