Our Commitment to Transparency

At FamilyNest, trust is the foundation of everything we build. We believe families deserve full visibility into how digital platforms operate behind the scenes. This page outlines exactly what analytics data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the tools we use to ensure your information remains secure and private.

We do not sell user data, do not engage in behavioral advertising, and design all analytics pipelines with privacy-by-default principles. Our systems are optimized to aggregate insights rather than track individuals, especially when children's accounts or family profiles are involved.

What We Track & Why

Our analytics infrastructure focuses on product improvement, performance monitoring, and family-centric insights. All data is anonymized or pseudonymized before processing where possible.

Data Category Examples Purpose Retention
Usage Analytics Page views, feature clicks, session duration Improve UI/UX and content relevance 14 months (aggregated)
Technical Performance Load times, error logs, device/browser info Debug issues & maintain stability 90 days
Feature Engagement Workshop attendance, activity completions, resource saves Tailor recommendations & optimize resources 24 months (pseudonymized)
Consent & Preferences Cookie choices, notification opt-ins/outs Respect user control & comply with regulations Indefinite (until revoked)

Note on Children's Data: We do not collect analytics data from devices or accounts used solely by children under 13. COPPA-compliant safeguards are enforced at the infrastructure level, and parental consent is required before any tracking cookies are enabled on family accounts.

Third-Party Analytics Partners

We partner with carefully vetted, privacy-compliant analytics providers to maintain platform health and gather usage insights. Each partner operates under strict data processing agreements (DPAs) and is prohibited from sharing, selling, or repurposing FamilyNest data for advertising.

  • Plausible Analytics — Lightweight, GDPR/CCPA-compliant web analytics. We use this to track aggregate traffic patterns without fingerprinting or persistent cookies.
  • Sentry — Real-time error tracking and performance monitoring. Helps us instantly detect and resolve technical issues.
  • Hotjar (Optional/Opt-in) — Session replay and heatmaps used exclusively on internal QA pages. Never active on family-facing or child-profile interfaces.

You can review each partner's privacy practices via the links in your Cookie Preference Center.
