1. How We Notify You of Changes
We are committed to giving you clear, timely notice whenever we make material changes to our Terms of Service. Depending on the nature of the update, we will notify you through one or more of the following methods:
- Email Notification: A direct message to the email address associated with your FamilyNest account.
- In-App Notice: A prominent banner or pop-up notification within the FamilyNest dashboard or mobile app.
- Website Announcement: A dedicated notice on our main Terms & Conditions page with a highlighted changelog.
- Push Notification: For mobile users who have enabled notifications, we may send a brief alert summarizing key changes.
⚠️ Important Notice for Material Changes
For significant updates that affect your rights, data usage, or service features, we will provide at least 30 days' notice before the new terms take effect. Your continued use of FamilyNest after this period will indicate your acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Effective Date of Updates
Each version of our Terms of Service will clearly display an "Effective Date" at the top of the document. Updates will only become binding once this date has passed, except in cases where immediate changes are required by law or to address urgent security vulnerabilities, in which case we will provide as much notice as legally and practically possible.
3. Minor vs. Material Changes
We categorize updates into two types:
- Minor/Technical Changes: Corrections to grammar, formatting, broken links, or clarifications that do not alter your rights or obligations. These may take effect immediately upon posting.
- Material Changes: Updates that modify how your data is used, introduce new fees, change account termination policies, or alter core service features. These always require advance notice and a grace period.
4. Your Options If You Disagree
We respect your choice as a parent and user. If you do not agree with the updated Terms of Service:
- You may export your data (child profiles, activity logs, saved resources) before the effective date.
- You may downgrade to a free tier or deactivate your account entirely.
- You may contact our support team to discuss your concerns; we are always open to feedback and will consider reasonable requests.
Discontinuing your account will result in the secure deletion of your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, unless retention is required by applicable law.
5. Changelog & Version History
For transparency, we maintain a publicly accessible changelog documenting every revision to our Terms of Service. You can review past versions, comparison highlights, and the reasoning behind major updates at any time by visiting our Terms Version History page.
6. Questions & Support
If you have questions about how a change affects your family account, subscription, or data, our Parent Support Team is here to help. We recommend reviewing updates during a time when you can ask questions or export records if needed.
