FamilyNest is built on the belief that every parent deserves access to reliable information, genuine support, and a compassionate community. These guidelines exist to protect that vision and ensure our platform remains a safe, respectful, and evidence-based space for families at every stage of their journey.

By participating in FamilyNest forums, commenting on articles, or sharing content, you agree to uphold these standards. Our goal isn't to limit conversation—it's to nurture it responsibly.

Our Core Values

• Evidence-Based: We prioritize information backed by pediatricians, child psychologists, and peer-reviewed research.
• Inclusivity: Families come in all forms. We welcome and respect all structures, backgrounds, and journeys.
• Child Safety: The wellbeing of children is non-negotiable. We enforce strict standards to protect minors online.

Expected Behavior

We encourage all community members to:

• Share personal experiences while acknowledging that what works for one family may not work for another.
• Ask thoughtful questions and offer constructive, compassionate feedback.
• Cite reputable sources when sharing medical, developmental, or educational advice.
• Use inclusive language and avoid assumptions about family structures, gender, or cultural practices.
• Stay on topic and keep discussions focused on parenting, child development, and family wellness.
• Disagree respectfully. You can critique ideas without attacking individuals.

Prohibited Content & Actions

To maintain a healthy environment, the following are strictly prohibited:

• Hate speech, discrimination, or harassment based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or family structure.
• Shaming, bullying, or judgmental language toward parents for their choices (discipline, feeding, education, etc.).
• Sharing unverified medical claims, dangerous home remedies, or anti-science parenting theories.
• Spamming, self-promotion, affiliate links, or commercial advertising without prior approval.
• Impersonating experts, doctors, or FamilyNest staff.
• Posting explicit, violent, or age-inappropriate content.
• Scraping user data, creating multiple accounts to manipulate discussions, or engaging in coordinated harassment.

Protecting Children & Privacy

The safety of minors is our highest priority. Please adhere to these strict privacy standards:

• No Identifiable Photos/Names: Do not post full names, exact ages, schools, locations, or recognizable photos of children without explicit, documented consent and appropriate blurring.
• Respect Boundaries: Never solicit private information from families or minors. Do not attempt to move conversations to unmoderated platforms.
• Age Appropriateness: FamilyNest is designed for adult caregivers. Content should not be directed toward or accessible to unsupervised minors.
• Data Privacy: We comply with COPPA, GDPR, and relevant data protection laws. Never share other members' private information.

Reporting Concerns

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it immediately. You can:

1. Use the "Report" button on any post, comment, or profile.
2. Email our moderation team directly at moderation@familynecst.com.
3. Use the in-app support chat for time-sensitive concerns.

We review all reports within 24 hours. Your identity will remain confidential unless disclosure is legally required or necessary to protect someone from harm.

Moderation & Enforcement

Our moderation team is trained in child safety, conflict resolution, and digital wellbeing. Enforcement follows a progressive approach:

• First Offense: Private warning with explanation and guideline reference.
• Second Offense: Temporary suspension (7-30 days) depending on severity.
• Severe/Repeated Violations: Permanent ban and content removal.
• Immediate Action: Content endangering children, illegal material, or severe harassment is removed instantly, and accounts may be banned without warning.

Users may appeal decisions by contacting appeals@familynecst.com. We reserve the right to modify enforcement based on context and community impact.

Policy Updates & Contact

These guidelines may be updated periodically to reflect new safety standards, platform features, or community needs. Significant changes will be communicated via email and in-app notifications. Continued use of FamilyNest constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
