Active & Recent Incidents

WMS Tile Rendering Delays
Resolved Minor

Users experienced increased latency (1.5s–3.2s) when requesting dynamic WMS tiles for high-zoom levels. The tile cache eviction policy was updated to prioritize frequently accessed layers.

14:02 UTC Monitoring confirms performance normalization across all edge nodes.
13:45 UTC Identified: Cache thrashing detected on primary render nodes. Applied configuration patch.
13:18 UTC Investigating: Elevated P95 response times reported for /wms/tiles endpoint.
Vector Tile Generation Queue Backup
Monitoring Minor

The asynchronous vector tile generation pipeline experienced a temporary backlog during a scheduled dataset import. Queue depth has returned to baseline and processing is catching up.

11:30 UTC Queue depth normalized. All pending tiles processing normally.
10:45 UTC Identified: Bulk import triggered concurrent generation tasks. Throttling applied.
10:12 UTC Investigating: Increased queue latency reported for PBF exports.

Scheduled Maintenance

PostGIS Index Optimization & Spatial Refactor Scheduled

Sunday, Dec 10, 2025 • 02:00 UTC – 06:00 UTC

We will be running a full spatial index vacuum and updating the R-Tree structures for all user datasets. WFS and WMS endpoints will experience brief read-only periods. No data loss expected. Auto-scaling will temporarily pause during the window.

Incident History

WFS Transaction Timeout (S3 Backup)
Resolved Major

Write operations to remote S3-backed datasets failed with 504 timeouts due to a network routing change in our us-east-1 edge region. Failover to us-west-2 restored service within 12 minutes.

Nov 28, 16:40 UTC Resolved: Failover complete. Monitoring stable.
Nov 28, 16:28 UTC Identified: BGP routing anomaly detected. Initiating region failover.
Nov 28, 16:15 UTC Investigating: Elevated 5xx errors on WFS-Transactional endpoints.
Coordinate Reference System (CRS) Validation Error
Resolved Minor

A malformed EPSG definition file caused projection failures for custom CRS datasets. The file was rolled back and validation rules updated.

Nov 15, 09:20 UTC Resolved: CRS definitions restored. Projections normal.
Nov 15, 08:55 UTC Identified: Bad merge in proj.db update. Rolling back.
Nov 15, 08:40 UTC Investigating: Users report 'Unknown CRS' errors on vector exports.
