🚨 Emergency Procedures

If you believe your pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, do not wait for a response from our telehealth service. Immediately contact your local emergency veterinary clinic or animal poison control.

If your pet is in immediate danger, call these numbers first:

ASPCA Animal Poison Control: (888) 426-4435 📞 Call Now

Seek immediate in-person care if your pet exhibits:

  • Difficulty breathing, gasping, or blue gums
  • Severe bleeding that won't stop after 5 minutes of pressure
  • Loss of consciousness or collapse
  • Seizures lasting longer than 2-3 minutes
  • Suspected ingestion of toxins, medications, or human food (chocolate, xylitol, grapes)
  • Extreme pain, vocalizing, or aggression when touched
  • Difficulty urinating (especially in male cats)

📦 Product Safety & Handling

Paws Source rigorously tests and curates all products. However, owners must follow these safety practices:

⚠️
Supervision Required

Always supervise your pet when using new toys, chews, or supplements. Even the safest products can become choking hazards if broken into small pieces.

Product Inspection Checklist

  • Check for Damage: Inspect toys and packaging for tears, holes, or broken parts before each use.
  • Size Appropriateness: Ensure toys and treats are the correct size for your pet. Small items can be swallowed by larger dogs.
  • Recall Alerts: Register your pet with us to receive instant notifications about product recalls.
  • Storage: Store food, supplements, and medications in cool, dry places away from direct sunlight and out of reach of pets.

Allergen & Ingredient Transparency

All Paws Source products include full ingredient disclosure. If your pet has known allergies, consult our nutritionists before introducing new foods.

✂️ Grooming Safety Protocols

Our groomers are certified professionals, but safety starts with accurate information from owners.

Pre-Grooming Requirements

  • Flea & Tick Treatment: All pets must be on a current flea and tick preventive before grooming. Untreated pets may be declined service.
  • Vaccinations: Proof of current vaccinations (Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella for dogs) is required.
  • Temperament Disclosure: If your pet has a history of snapping, biting, or extreme anxiety, please inform us. We offer "de-shedding only" or home-grooming options for reactive pets.
  • Matting Policy: Severely matted coats may require a full shave-down for the pet's comfort and skin health. Groomers have the discretion to adjust services for safety.

🏠 Boarding & Daycare Standards

We maintain a strict health and safety environment in our facilities:

🚫
Zero Tolerance Policy

Pets that display aggression toward other animals or staff will be immediately removed from daycare/boarding. Safety of all residents is non-negotiable.

Facility Safety Features

  • 24/7 Supervision: All common areas are monitored at all times.
  • Climate Control: Facilities are maintained at comfortable temperatures year-round.
  • Sanitization: Daily deep cleaning with pet-safe, hospital-grade disinfectants.
  • Grouping: Pets are grouped by size, energy level, and temperament.
  • Secure Enclosures: Double-door entry systems and reinforced fencing.
  • Emergency Vet Access: Contract with nearby emergency clinic; vet on-call nights/weekends.

Owner Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate emergency contact information.
  • Dietary restrictions and medication schedules must be clearly documented.
  • Microchipping is strongly recommended for all boarding pets.

🥜 Allergen Awareness

Pet allergies can range from mild skin irritation to life-threatening anaphylaxis. Paws Source takes allergen safety seriously:

  • All products are manufactured in facilities that follow strict allergen control protocols.
  • Cross-contamination risks are minimized, but we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment.
  • If your pet has a severe allergy, please consult your vet before ordering.
  • Look for the "Allergen-Free Verified" badge on our product pages for items tested for common allergens.
