Before Launch
While your campaign is in Draft status, you have full editing access. This is the ideal time to finalize your messaging, visuals, and reward structure.
- Edit Core Details: Change your campaign title, category, funding goal, and timeline freely.
- Update Media: Upload high-resolution photos, edit your campaign video, and adjust thumbnail aspect ratios.
- Configure Rewards: Add, remove, or modify reward tiers, shipping regions, and limit quantities.
- Set Up Payments: Verify your payout account, bank details, and tax information before going live.
- Preview & Test: Use the "Preview Campaign" tool to see exactly how backers will experience your page.
💡 Pro Tip
Always use the preview mode before publishing. Changes made here will not affect your campaign URL or SEO ranking.
After Launch
Once your campaign is live, editing capabilities are intentionally limited to protect backers and maintain campaign integrity. You can still make strategic updates:
- Campaign Updates: Post text, photo, or video updates to share progress, setbacks, or new information. All backers receive email notifications.
- Add New Rewards: You can introduce additional reward tiers (e.g., stretch goals or last-chance bundles), but existing backers will not be automatically enrolled.
- Edit Description & FAQ: Minor tweaks to your story, goals, or frequently asked questions are allowed, but major structural changes require our review.
- Extend Duration: If you need more time to reach your goal, you can request a 7-day extension (once per campaign).
- Increase Funding Goal: Goals can be raised to reflect stretch goals or increased manufacturing costs, but must be approved by our trust & safety team.
⚠️ Important
Major changes to your campaign page after launch are restricted to prevent misleading backers. If you've made a critical error, contact our creator support team immediately.
What Cannot Be Changed
To ensure transparency and trust, the following elements are permanently locked once your campaign goes live:
- Original Campaign Title: Can only be adjusted for typographical errors (max 3 characters).
- Creator Identity & Contact: The primary account holder and verified email cannot be transferred.
- Base Funding Goal & Deadline: Cannot be decreased or shortened.
- Existing Reward Tiers: Price, description, and fulfillment dates cannot be altered for backers who already pledged.
- Payment Method & Payout Account: Must remain unchanged to comply with financial regulations.
Best Practices for Campaign Editing
- Plan Ahead: Finalize your copy, budget, and timeline during the draft phase. Use spreadsheets or project management tools.
- Use Updates for Changes: Instead of rewriting your page, post clear, honest updates when circumstances change.
- Communicate Transparently: If manufacturing delays or cost increases occur, backers appreciate direct communication over hidden edits.
- Backup Your Assets: Keep copies of your campaign video, images, and reward spreadsheets outside the platform.
- Review Before Publishing: Have at least two trusted people proofread your campaign page before hitting launch.
