Our Accessibility Commitment
At Sitemap.xml, we believe the web should be open, inclusive, and usable by everyone. This page outlines our commitment to accessibility, the standards we follow, and how you can help us improve.
Our Commitment
We are dedicated to providing equal access to all users, including people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities. We continuously improve the usability and accessibility of our products, services, and website.
Our goal: Achieve and maintain WCAG 2.2 Level AA compliance across all customer-facing digital properties, while striving for Level AAA wherever feasible.
Standards & Guidelines
Our development and design processes are aligned with internationally recognized accessibility standards:
WCAG 2.2
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines developed by the W3C WAI. We target Level AA conformance.
Section 508
U.S. federal standards for electronic and information technology accessibility.
ARIA 1.2
Accessible Rich Internet Applications specifications for dynamic content and advanced user interface controls.
EN 301 549
European standard for accessible ICT products and services.
How We Ensure Accessibility
Accessibility is not an afterthought; it's embedded in our product lifecycle:
- Design Phase: Our UI/UX team uses accessible color palettes (WCAG AA+ contrast ratios), scalable typography, and clear focus indicators from the first wireframe.
- Development: Semantic HTML, proper heading hierarchy, keyboard navigation, ARIA attributes where native HTML isn't sufficient, and screen reader testing are mandatory.
- Testing: Automated scanning (axe, Lighthouse), manual keyboard navigation testing, and regular testing with assistive technologies (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack).
- User Feedback: We actively solicit feedback from users with disabilities and incorporate it into our development roadmap.
