Introduction
Welcome to the official editorial guidelines for Aevum Encyclopedia. Our platform thrives on the collaboration of expert contributors, peer reviewers, and AI-assisted verification systems. Whether you are drafting a new entry, refining existing content, or submitting for publication, adherence to these standards ensures the encyclopedia remains a trusted, authoritative resource.
📌 Core Commitment
Every article must reflect verified knowledge, present multiple perspectives where applicable, and cite credible sources. Original research, unpublished claims, and promotional content are strictly prohibited.
Core Principles

Claims must be backed by reliable, published sources. Unverifiable statements will be flagged or removed.

Articles must present facts without bias, acknowledging legitimate controversies and scholarly debates.
🌍 Inclusivity
Content should reflect global perspectives, avoiding cultural, linguistic, or regional favoritism.
📐 Clarity
Writing must be accessible to educated readers while maintaining academic precision and structure.
🤝 Collaborative Integrity
Editing is a shared responsibility. Constructive feedback, attribution, and respectful discourse are mandatory.
🔄 Continuous Improvement
Articles are living documents. Regular updates, fact-checking, and expansion are expected.

Sourcing & Citations
Reliable sourcing is the backbone of Aevum Encyclopedia. All factual claims, statistics, quotes, and non-trivial statements require citations.
Primary vs Secondary Sources
- Primary Sources: Original documents, raw data, interviews, court records, official publications. Use sparingly and with expert interpretation.
- Secondary Sources: Peer-reviewed journals, academic books, reputable news outlets, institutional reports. Preferred for historical analysis and synthesis.
- Tertiary Sources: Dictionaries, encyclopedias, textbooks. Acceptable for background context but not for verifiable claims.
Citation Standards
We use a modified Chicago/Turabian digital format optimized for web readability:
Example: Chen, Wei, & Al-Mansoor, Fatima. Quantum Topology in Modern Physics. 2nd ed. Cambridge: Oxford University Press, 2023. DOI:10.1093/oxford/9780192845671.
Example: Rivera, Elena. "Decentralized Knowledge Networks." Nature Digital Humanities, 14(3), 2024. https://doi.org/10.1038/natdh.2024.089 (Accessed: Oct 12, 2025).
AI & Computational Content Policy
Aevum leverages AI for drafting assistance, fact-crossreferencing, and knowledge graph generation. However, human oversight remains mandatory.
- AI-Generated Drafts: Must be fully reviewed, edited, and verified by qualified contributors before publication.
- Hallucination Prevention: AI suggestions lacking source links or containing unverifiable claims must be flagged.
- Attribution: If AI tools are used for structural organization or translation, disclose usage in the article's edit history.
- Prohibited Uses: Fully AI-authored content without human verification, AI-generated citations, or synthetic media without clear labeling.
🤖 Human-in-the-Loop Mandate
Our AI systems assist, not replace, expert judgment. Every published article must pass at least one human expert review cycle.
Review & Moderation
Content undergoes a multi-tier verification process:
- Community Edit: Open drafting and initial fact-checking by registered contributors.
- AI Cross-Reference: Automated source validation, bias detection, and cross-lingual consistency checks.
- Expert Peer Review: Domain specialists evaluate accuracy, depth, and neutrality.
- Final Publication: Articles meeting standards are published and indexed in the knowledge graph.
Editors may tag articles as Draft, Under Review, Featured, or Needs Improvement. Persistent violations may result in content suspension.
Style & Tone
- Use clear, precise language. Avoid jargon unless defined.
- Prefer active voice, but maintain academic neutrality.
- Use metric units primarily, with imperial equivalents in parentheses where relevant.
- Avoid absolutist terms (always, never, completely) unless scientifically proven.
- Maintain encyclopedic tone: informative, detached, and authoritative.
Conflict of Interest
Contributors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships related to the subject matter. Paid editing, promotional content, or undisclosed affiliations violate our code of conduct and will result in content removal and account review.
