DPO Responsibilities & Independence

Independent Oversight: The DPO operates autonomously, reporting directly to the Board of Directors without editorial or commercial interference.
Policy Development: Drafting, reviewing, and updating internal data protection policies, retention schedules, and compliance frameworks.
Training & Awareness: Conducting mandatory privacy training for journalists, editors, developers, and third-party partners.
Breach Management: Leading incident response, assessing risks, and notifying supervisory authorities within regulatory timeframes.
Regulatory Liaison: Serving as the primary contact for ICO, EU Data Protection Boards, and cross-border data transfers.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting

Aevum News processes data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679), UK GDPR, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and applicable local legislation. We maintain a Record of Processing Activities (ROPA) and conduct regular Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for high-risk operations.
