Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about CloudNexus Block Storage.

Can I resize a volume while it's attached to a running instance?

Yes. CloudNexus supports live expansion. You can increase volume size without detaching or rebooting the instance. The guest OS may require a filesystem resize command, but the block device grows instantly.

How does encryption affect performance?

Our encryption engine uses dedicated hardware accelerators and kernel-bypass techniques, resulting in zero measurable performance penalty. IOPS and throughput remain identical to unencrypted volumes.

Are snapshots incremental or full copies?

Snapshots are block-level incremental. Only changed blocks are stored, saving up to 80% in snapshot storage costs. Restores from any snapshot create a completely independent volume.

What happens to my data if I delete a volume?

Deletion permanently removes the volume after a 7-day soft-delete grace period. We strongly recommend enabling automated snapshots before deletion. Once the grace period expires, data is cryptographically shredded and unrecoverable.
