You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- Use strong, unique passwords and enable multi-factor authentication where available.
- Do not share your credentials, API keys, or session tokens with unauthorized parties.
- Immediately notify support@dictionary.com if you suspect unauthorized access or a security breach.
- Review active sessions and connected integrations regularly from your account dashboard.
Permitted Use & Compliance
You may use Dictionary for lawful purposes only, in accordance with these responsibilities, our Terms of Service, and applicable local, state, and international laws.
- Use the platform solely for the purpose for which your subscription tier was intended.
- Respect rate limits, fair-use policies, and service availability guidelines.
- Ensure that any commercial or educational use complies with licensing restrictions.
- Do not attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security-related features or usage controls.
Data & Content Submission
When you submit, upload, or generate content through Dictionary, you retain ownership but grant us necessary licenses to process and deliver responses.
- You warrant that all submitted content does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights.
- You are responsible for verifying the accuracy, appropriateness, and legality of user-generated content.
- Dictionary may filter or block content that violates our Acceptable Use Policy or applicable regulations.
- Do not submit personally identifiable information (PII) or sensitive data unless encrypted or processed under a DPA.
API & Technical Usage
Customers utilizing the Dictionary API must adhere to technical best practices to maintain service stability and data integrity.
- Authenticate all requests using provided API keys or OAuth tokens as documented.
- Implement exponential backoff and respect `RateLimit-Remaining` headers.
- Cache responses appropriately to reduce redundant calls and improve latency.
- Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract underlying models or datasets.
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account:
- Scraping, crawling, or bulk-extracting content without explicit written permission.
- Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing Dictionary data without an Enterprise or Commercial license.
- Using the service to generate, host, or distribute illegal, harmful, or non-consensual content.
- Impersonating Dictionary, misrepresenting affiliation, or creating confusingly similar branding.
- Introducing malware, botnets, or automated systems designed to disrupt service availability.
Support & Communication
Timely and accurate communication helps us maintain a secure and reliable platform for all users.
- Provide accurate billing, contact, and organization details during onboarding.
- Respond to security vulnerability reports or compliance requests within the agreed timeframe.
- Use official support channels for technical issues, abuse reports, or data removal requests.
- Keep your subscription information current to avoid service interruptions.
Limitations & Acknowledgments
Dictionary provides linguistic data, definitions, and AI-assisted insights for informational and reference purposes only.
- Definitions and translations are not guaranteed to be legally, medically, or technically authoritative.
- AI-generated suggestions may occasionally produce inaccuracies; always verify critical information.
- Service availability is subject to scheduled maintenance and不可抗力 events.
- Users assume responsibility for how they apply Dictionary's output in professional, academic, or commercial contexts.
Updates & Changes
We periodically update this document to reflect product changes, security improvements, or regulatory requirements. Substantive changes will be communicated via email or in-app notifications at least 30 days prior to taking effect. Continued use of Dictionary services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised responsibilities.
