It Started With a Late-Night Question
In 2009, Emily and David Carter — both first-time parents living in Portland, Oregon — found themselves staring at a crying newborn at 3 AM, overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. Instead of calling a doctor (who wouldn't answer), they started a simple blog to share what they learned.
What began as a personal journal quickly became a lifeline for other new parents. Within months, hundreds of families were reading their posts, sharing their own stories, and building a community that crossed time zones and backgrounds.
Today, FamilyNest is a team of 40+ dedicated professionals — pediatricians, psychologists, content creators, and yes, still parents — all united by the same mission that started that late night in 2009: no parent should ever feel alone in this journey.
