IronForge Fitness: Programs & Training Methodology
Our approach to fitness is built on evidence-based training principles, progressive overload, and sustainable habit formation. This page outlines our core training pillars, class structures, and how our programming adapts to different experience levels.
Core Training Pillars
Every IronForge program is structured around four fundamental pillars that ensure balanced physical development and long-term athletic longevity:
- Strength & Power: Compound movements focusing on neural adaptation and maximal force production.
- Cardiovascular Health: Zone 2 base building and VO2 max intervals for metabolic efficiency.
- Mobility & Flexibility: Dynamic and static protocols to maintain joint integrity and movement quality.
- Recovery & Regeneration: Active recovery, mobility flow, and parasympathetic nervous system activation.
Training Philosophy
We prioritize movement quality over load, consistency over intensity spikes, and progressive programming over generic workout templates. Every session is designed to contribute to a 12-week mesocycle.
Program Structure & Scheduling
Our fitness offerings are organized into daily tracks that cater to different training objectives. Members can follow a linear progression or mix and match based on their weekly goals.
| Program Track | Frequency | Duration | Primary Focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foundation Strength | 3x/week | 60 min | Squats, Deadlifts, Presses, Pulls |
| Metabolic Conditioning | 2-3x/week | 45 min | Aerobic capacity & work rate |
| Functional Mobility | 2x/week | 40 min | Joint health & tissue resilience |
| Combat & Skill | 2x/week | 60 min | Boxing, grappling, footwork |
Progression & Periodization
Unlike static workout routines, IronForge utilizes block periodization to systematically develop physical attributes while minimizing overtraining risks:
- Hypertrophy Block (Weeks 1-4): Higher volume, moderate intensity, focus on muscle adaptation and connective tissue strengthening.
- Strength Block (Weeks 5-8): Lower volume, higher intensity, emphasis on neural drive and 1RM progression.
- Peak & Deload (Weeks 9-12): Power development followed by a planned reduction in volume to facilitate supercompensation.
Each block includes weekly autoregulation checkpoints where members adjust loads based on readiness scores, sleep quality, and perceived exertion (RPE). Our training floor is equipped with calibrated plates, power racks, and smart equipment to support precise load tracking.
Equipment & Facility Zoning
The IronForge training floor is deliberately zoned to optimize workflow and safety:
- Free Weight Zone: Olympic platforms, competition benches, calibrated barbell racks, and dumbbells ranging from 5–120 lbs.
- Machine & Cable Area: Selectorized strength machines and dual-pulley systems for isolation work and controlled eccentrics.
- Conditioning Zone: Assault bikes, air runners, rowing ergometers, and sled tracks for metabolic training.
- Recovery & Mobility Corner: Foam rollers, lacrosse balls, resistance bands, and dedicated stretching mats.
