Acceptable Use & AI Ethics Policy
1. Introduction & Commitment
NexusAI is committed to the responsible development, deployment, and use of artificial intelligence technologies. This Acceptable Use & AI Ethics Policy establishes the standards, boundaries, and expectations for all users, partners, and internal teams interacting with NexusAI platforms, models, and services.
Our mission is to democratize advanced AI capabilities while ensuring safety, fairness, transparency, and accountability. This policy applies to all individuals and organizations utilizing NexusAI APIs, SDKs, cloud services, on-premise deployments, and related tools.
2. Core Ethical Principles
All AI systems developed and deployed through NexusAI must adhere to the following foundational principles:
- Transparency: AI decisions and processes must be explainable, with clear documentation of model capabilities, limitations, and data sources.
- Fairness & Non-Discrimination: Models must be evaluated for bias across demographic, geographic, and socioeconomic dimensions. Mitigation strategies must be applied where disparities are identified.
- Safety & Reliability: Systems must undergo rigorous testing, validation, and continuous monitoring to prevent harm, ensure robustness, and maintain operational integrity.
- Privacy & Data Protection: User data must be processed in compliance with applicable laws (GDPR, CCPA, AI Act, etc.). Data minimization, encryption, and consent mechanisms are strictly enforced.
- Human Oversight & Accountability: AI must augment, not replace, human judgment in high-stakes decisions. Clear lines of accountability must be maintained for all automated outcomes.
3. Acceptable Use Guidelines
NexusAI services may be used for legitimate business, research, educational, and creative purposes that comply with applicable laws and this policy. Examples of permitted uses include:
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Business Automation | Streamlining workflows, document processing, customer support routing, and operational analytics. |
| Research & Development | Academic studies, model evaluation, algorithmic improvement, and non-commercial experimentation. |
| Creative & Generative Tasks | Content drafting, design assistance, code generation, and media synthesis with proper attribution and safety filters. |
| Predictive Analytics | Forecasting, risk assessment, demand planning, and trend analysis using historical and aggregated data. |
4. Prohibited Activities
The following uses are strictly prohibited. Violations may result in immediate service suspension, legal action, and permanent account termination:
- ✕ Illegal Activities: Facilitating fraud, money laundering, theft, harassment, or any violation of local, national, or international law.
- ✕ Malware & Cyberattacks: Generating, distributing, or weaponizing malware, ransomware, phishing templates, or exploiting vulnerabilities.
- ✕ Deception & Misinformation: Creating deepfakes, synthetic media, or AI-generated content intended to deceive, defraud, or manipulate without clear disclosure.
- ✕ Harmful Content Generation: Producing hate speech, explicit violence, self-harm promotion, or non-consensual intimate imagery.
- ✕ Security Evasion: Attempting to bypass content filters, rate limits, authentication systems, or safety guardrails.
- ✕ Bias Amplification: Deliberately training, fine-tuning, or deploying models to discriminate against protected classes or marginalize vulnerable populations.
5. AI Governance & Compliance
NexusAI maintains a comprehensive AI governance framework aligned with global regulatory standards and industry best practices. Our approach includes:
- Continuous Monitoring: Real-time auditing of model outputs, input patterns, and performance metrics to detect drift, bias, or misuse.
- Third-Party Audits: Annual independent evaluations of our AI systems for fairness, security, privacy, and compliance.
- Regulatory Alignment: Adherence to the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, OECD AI Principles, and applicable data protection laws.
- Incident Response: A dedicated AI Safety Team responsible for rapid investigation, mitigation, and transparent communication in the event of model failures or policy violations.
6. User Responsibilities
All users of NexusAI services are responsible for:
- Reviewing and complying with this policy, our Terms of Service, and applicable data privacy regulations.
- Ensuring training data and prompt inputs are accurate, lawful, and free from protected personal information unless explicitly consented and anonymized.
- Implementing appropriate human review workflows for high-risk or automated decision-making applications.
- Securing API keys, access tokens, and deployment credentials using industry-standard authentication practices.
- Reporting suspected violations, security incidents, or unexpected model behavior through official channels.
