🍖 Food & Nutrition Storage

Proper food storage is critical to maintaining your pet's health. Improperly stored food can lose up to 50% of its nutritional value within weeks and may develop harmful bacteria or mold.

Dry Food (Kibble)

• ✅ Transfer to an airtight container immediately after opening the bag. Original packaging is designed for shipping, not long-term storage.
• ✅ Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ideal temperature is between 50-75°F (10-24°C).
• ✅ Use within 4-6 weeks of opening for optimal freshness. Check the "best by" date on packaging.
• ✅ Wash hands and utensils before handling food. Never use the same scoop for wet and dry food.

Wet Food (Canned & Pouches)

• ✅ Refrigerate opened cans and pouches within 2 hours. Use within 3 days maximum.
• ✅ Transfer leftovers to a sealed plastic container rather than refrigerating in the metal can.
• ✅ Discard any food left in the bowl for more than 30 minutes at room temperature.

✂️ Grooming Tool Maintenance

Well-maintained grooming tools work better, last longer, and are gentler on your pet's skin and coat. Follow these care routines to keep everything in peak condition.

Brushes & Combs

• 🔧 After each use: Remove trapped hair using a comb or your fingers. For slicker brushes, lift the bristles with a rubber band to release mats.
• 🔧 Weekly: Soak brushes in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap. Scrub gently with an old toothbrush to remove built-up oils and debris.
• 🔧 Monthly: Soak in a diluted vinegar solution (1:4 ratio) to disinfect. Rinse thoroughly and air dry completely before storage.

Clippers & Trimmers

• 🔧 After each use: Brush off hair and debris from blades. Wipe with a disinfecting wipe.
• 🔧 Monthly: Remove blades and soak in clipper wash for 10 minutes. Rinse, dry, and apply blade oil to every tooth.
• 🔧 Every 6 months: Replace or sharpen blades. Dull blades pull hair and can cause skin irritation.

Washing Schedule

• 📅 Removable covers: Machine wash every 1-2 weeks on warm water with mild detergent.
• 📅 Inner foam/cushion: Vacuum monthly. Spot clean with enzyme cleaner as needed. Air out in sunlight weekly.
• 📅 Full bed (non-removable): Machine wash monthly on gentle cycle if label permits. Otherwise, use a handheld steam cleaner.
• 📅 Replacement: Replace beds every 1-2 years or when they lose shape, develop permanent odors, or show signs of wear.
