How to Measure Your Pet
Follow these simple steps to get accurate measurements for the perfect-fitting products every time.
Get a Soft Tape
Use a soft, flexible measuring tape. A cloth tailors tape or a piece of string marked with measurements works perfectly.
Measure the Neck
Wrap the tape gently around the base of the neck where the collar naturally sits. Leave room for two fingers.
Measure the Chest
Measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. This is critical for harnesses and clothing.
Measure the Length
Measure from the base of the neck (where the collar sits) to the base of the tail along the back.
Check the Weight
Your pet's weight helps refine the size recommendation, especially for beds and crates. Weigh them or check their last vet visit.
💡 Pro Measuring Tips
Getting accurate measurements ensures your pet stays comfortable and products last longer.
- Measure while your pet is standing normally — not stretched or curled.
- Take each measurement 2–3 times for consistency.
- Always round up to the nearest half inch for comfort.
- For growing puppies, choose a size adjustable or one step up.
- Measure after a meal, not on an empty stomach, for the most accurate girth.
