Community Guidelines

Creating a safe, compassionate, and supportive space for mental wellness and mindful growth.

Last Updated: November 2024

Introduction

Welcome to the SereneMind community. This space is designed to be a sanctuary for reflection, healing, and mutual support. Our guidelines exist to ensure that every member feels safe, respected, and empowered to share their journey at their own pace.

By participating in SereneMind's forums, group sessions, or digital communities, you agree to uphold these principles. We encourage you to read them carefully and engage with curiosity, compassion, and care.

Core Values

Our community is built on four foundational principles that guide every interaction:

  • Compassion Over Judgment: We meet each other where we are, without expectation or criticism.
  • Safety First: Your emotional and psychological well-being is our priority.
  • Growth Through Awareness: We encourage mindful reflection and continuous learning.
  • Inclusive Space: Everyone deserves access to mental wellness support, regardless of background, identity, or experience level.

Confidentiality & Privacy

Mental health journeys are deeply personal. We take your privacy seriously.

Important Note

While we strive to maintain a safe environment, online communities cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality. Please avoid sharing sensitive identifying information (full names, addresses, workplaces, insurance details, etc.).

  • Never share another member's personal information without explicit consent.
  • Do not record, screenshot, or redistribute private group conversations or therapy discussions.
  • Use usernames or pseudonyms if you prefer greater anonymity.
  • Our platform encrypts all communications, but public forums are visible to all members.

Supportive Communication

Healthy dialogue is the foundation of our community. Please keep the following in mind:

Do:

  • Listen actively and validate others' experiences.
  • Share personal insights using "I" statements (e.g., "I found this helpful...").
  • Offer resources only when asked or when clearly relevant.
  • Respect boundaries and step back if someone indicates they need space.

Don't:

  • Give clinical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations.
  • Dismiss, minimize, or compare trauma and mental health experiences.
  • Use triggering language without proper content warnings.
  • Pressure others to share beyond their comfort level.

Prohibited Behavior

The following actions violate our community standards and will result in moderation action:

  • Harassment, bullying, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind.
  • Sharing explicit, violent, or sexually suggestive content.
  • Promoting unproven medical treatments, supplements, or alternative therapies as cures.
  • Spamming, self-promotion, or soliciting business/services.
  • Impersonating licensed professionals or SereneMind staff.
  • Posting content that glorifies self-harm, suicide, or dangerous coping mechanisms.

Medical Disclaimer

SereneMind is an educational and supportive platform. Content shared by members or community facilitators is not a substitute for professional medical or psychological treatment. Always consult a licensed healthcare provider for clinical concerns.

Crisis Support & Disclaimer

SereneMind is not a crisis intervention service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, please reach out to emergency services or a dedicated crisis hotline.
