We stand behind the quality of every Terroir Cocoa creation. If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may initiate a return within 30 days of the original delivery date.
π How We Calculate Your Window
Your 30-day return period begins on the date your order was delivered, not when it was shipped. You'll find your exact delivery date in your order confirmation email or account dashboard.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for a return or exchange, your order must meet the following conditions:
- Original Packaging: Items must be in their original, unopened wrapper and protective box.
- Proper Storage: Chocolate must have been stored at recommended temperatures (60β68Β°F / 15β20Β°C) and away from direct sunlight or strong odors.
- Defective or Damaged: Items that arrived damaged, melted due to shipping conditions, or show manufacturing defects are fully eligible.
- Non-Perishable Condition: Due to food safety regulations, opened or partially consumed chocolate cannot be returned.
β οΈ Food Safety Notice
As a responsible producer, we cannot accept returns on opened chocolate bars, truffles, or perishable items for health and safety reasons. Please inspect your package upon arrival before opening.
How to Request a Return
Our return process is designed to be simple and transparent. Follow these four steps:
Submit Request
Contact our care team via email or phone with your order number and reason for return.
Receive Authorization
We'll review your request and send a Return Authorization (RA) number and shipping label if approved.
Ship Back
Package the item securely in its original box, attach the prepaid label, and drop off at your nearest carrier.
Receive Resolution
Once received and inspected, we'll process your refund or exchange within 5β7 business days.
Refunds & Exchanges
Refund Process
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout. Please allow 5β10 additional business days for your bank or credit card issuer to process and post the credit to your account.
Exchange Policy
Would you prefer a different variety? We're happy to arrange exchanges for eligible items. Exchange requests must be submitted within the 30-day window. Any price difference will be charged or refunded accordingly. Shipping costs for exchanges are covered by Terroir Cocoa.
π Shipping & Handling
Return shipping is free for defective, damaged, or incorrectly shipped items. For change-of-mind returns, a flat $8.50 restocking/shipping fee will be deducted from your refund.
Non-Returnable Items
Certain products cannot be returned or exchanged due to their nature or custom preparation:
- Custom & Corporate Orders: Personalized bars, gift sets, and bulk corporate orders are final sale unless defective.
- Limited Edition & Seasonal Releases: Due to small-batch production, seasonal collections (e.g., Harvest Series, Holiday Truffles) are non-returnable.
- Opened or Compromised Packaging: Items with broken seals, tampered packaging, or visible consumption.
- Grocery & Retail Resellers: Products purchased through third-party retailers must be handled by that retailer's return policy.
