Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our wind energy solutions.

Our turbines have a cut-in speed of 3 m/s (6.7 mph), meaning they begin generating power at very light breezes. Optimal performance is achieved at wind speeds between 12-18 m/s. Our V-Series turbines can operate safely in winds up to 25 m/s (56 mph) before entering protective shutdown mode.
Wind farms are highly land-efficient. A typical 100 MW onshore wind farm occupies approximately 10,000-15,000 acres, but only about 1-2% of that land is used for turbine foundations and access roads. The remaining land can continue to be used for agriculture, grazing, or conservation.
Our Verdantix V-Series turbines are designed for a 25-year operational lifespan, with many units continuing to operate efficiently beyond that. Major components like the gearbox (in geared models), generator, and blades are designed for easy replacement, allowing for life extension beyond the initial 25-year period.
Our turbines feature full grid compatibility with advanced power electronics that provide reactive power support, voltage regulation, and frequency response. They can seamlessly integrate with existing grid infrastructure, and when paired with battery storage, can provide dispatchable power that helps stabilize the grid during peak demand periods.
Our direct-drive turbine design eliminates gearbox maintenance, significantly reducing routine service requirements. Standard maintenance includes semi-annual inspections, lubrication of pitch and yaw systems, blade surface inspections, and bolt torque checks. Our AI-powered predictive maintenance platform further reduces unplanned visits by identifying potential issues before they cause failures.
We offer multiple financial structures: outright purchase with financing options, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) where we own and operate the turbines while you buy the power at a fixed rate, leasing arrangements, and community energy share models. We also assist with securing government incentives, tax credits, and green bonds to maximize your return on investment.
